How do you remove inner drum on top loading LG Washer WT5170HV?

The whole top of machine must be removed.
unplug electronics and hoses remove upper splash ring remove cap in center of agitator remove bolt holding down remove .
remove inner tub Nut center tube should lift up and out.
next step if your changing shaft is all from bottom.
lot more down there. Take picture b4 and as you remove for ref. to resemble

Many times the hose gets mushy and either fractures or leaks from a weak point on the hose. In some cases the hose attachment leaks at the connecting point as the clamp is loose or the hose shrinks around the fitting.

there is a product called agitamer, a rubber bladder inserted under agitator and hooked to your cold water line, pressure popos it off quite nicely

Getting the agitator out

there is no screw or bolt holding it in. its just a matter of getting enough upward force on it to get it out. you need to pull straight up from the bottom. some times a rope under the agitator helps.
