Channel in receiver might have gone out or did you blow fuse inside speaker - switch to other out put location to see if speaker is issue or receiver

I did switch speaker to other side and there was no sound. Thats how I know its the speaker. Everything I have read about the Re 30 series says it has a self resetting fuse to prevent blowing speaker. But no reset. Nothing.

did you try switching the wire from the speaker that was working to the one with no sound- I assume you are making sure all this is done before saying its definitely the speaker- some wires do have a life cycle on dealing with heat thru it - if thats ok, check out connection locations of speakers- do all visual checks first - then If that's all ok looking, no burnt locations with speaker, use a tester to check out reading of good speaker, then with other speaker setup same test procedure and step by step check everything off that is ok - if you think its the speaker, it has to be either a board setup or solder joints - I have gone as far as to make sure each individual speaker had sound going to it - how much you can do depends how much experience you have with electronics - do the easy and simple things first. depending how far you want to go with revival, if you really like the speaker setup you could try a tech for a repair-if you had too - or could it be new speaker time. buying some used ones sometimes is a lot less expensive than a tech cost -

Thank u Jim. I will do as u have suggested and let u know what I find out. Im already amazed to learn that speaker cable/wire has a life cycle. Maybe mine just passed away. That'd be awesome if thats all it is.

SOURCE: Cerwin Vega V-10S Subwoofer doesn´t sounds good

dear "rai17"

This, to me, is most likely the voice coil inside the driver rubbung against the yolk plate, or possibly the spyder slapping the metal plate underneath it, or the amp-(if it has one?) getting tired. this can occur from poor build quality, or playing the subwoofer too loud. depending on how much it cost you, you may want to get it repaired(voice coil re-alignment or something or new amp). But the way it seems, it is probably the driver itself. subwoofers get looser as they break in. This one may have been over-broken....sorry

I hope this helped clarify what is happening!

SOURCE: no sound coming out of speakers on my cerwin vega

spurdoggg,
It will be easy to pin point the problem. If your satellite speakers have been connect through the sub's in and output speaker connectors, disconnect them and connect them directly to the source of sound. If the speakers work its the crossover inside the sub enclosure. If the speakers do not work the speakers are blown.

You need to check the connections on the cross over board and also Ohm out the speaker to see if the voice coil is open. If you cannot get the same woofer, then you should replace them in pair, try http://www.parts-express.com//index.cfm?

Replacement woofers for Cerwin Vega HED 3way 12. Can I use woofers from the LS Series?

Absolutely, as long as they are the same impedance.
If you are unsure, use an ohmmeter to check the static impedance of the replacement speakers, and be sure that it is with in 2-3 ohms of the listed impedance of the speakers you are replacing (otherwise, your crossover points will be wrong).
