SOURCE: Unit not freezing , evaporator fan wont run

If this is a Bev-Air, don't think the door switch will control the fan. At the evap, there is a temp sensor called a fan delay. When unit goes into defrost mode, this warms up. Some also serve a dual purpose. It will terminate the defrost cycle at a certain temp., say 51 degrees or so, at the evap. Anyway, when unit comes out of defrost, it keeps the fan off so it allows the evap to cool quicker and to prevent circulating warm air. This could be your problem. Not a hard fix but they can be a pain sometimes. Outside chance that the unit is low on refrigerant (freon). This will not let the evap get cold enough to trip the sensor back into position to turn the fan on. Good Luck. Restaurant Parts and More carry alot of Bev-Air stuff. 1-888-814-1110. Ask for Rick

SOURCE: Compressor and Compressor Fan Not Working

Rotate the dial on the defrost thermostat, a big click is when it goes into defrost, a little more and it should turn the compressor back on. By overload protector, do you mean the one under the compressor cover?

SOURCE: Compressor & Evap. Fan both work for 12 hours then evap stops

I believe that because defrost is done by the mother control board this is why this is happening the part of the board that controls defrost is malfunctioning and the only way to resolve the problem is to replace the mother board part number WR55X10656 You can find the replacement board at these places below. SOURCE: fan runs, but compressor does not start

Hi,
There are many reasons for a dehumidifier2_bing.gif to not work or collect water.
Here is a tip that I wrote to help people to figure out what is going wrong with their dehumidifier2_bing.gif.

Dehumidifier is running but no water is in bucket

Purchased in 2010. Temperature doesn't fall below 55F. Fan works. Sounds like compressor is working. Haven't physically inspected compressor. Used to cool to 39F.

May be both. Is the evaporator blocked or have ice built up on it? If so there could be two reasons for that. Low on freon or not enough airflow inside the cabinet.

Danby silhouette Minifridge model DAR483BLS. Runs but does not get cold. What's the problem?

Does the compressor actually run or is it just the evaporator fan that you hear running inside the unit? If the compressor is running but never gets cold you have a leak in the system and not much freon left.

I am a different person with the same problem the compressor kicks on ,the light is on but it doesnt get cold it does seem like the fan at the top isnt working the one in the middle is thank you

The compressor is running, that is a good sign. If you notice any cooling that is not a good sign. Even with the fan not running , the evaporator should have produce some cooling. Could it be that you are a condenser fan running? well, the compressor makes a distinct sound when it runs and you need to confirm that is running and not just the condenser fan.
Firstly- If you confirm that the condenser fan is running; that is, if there is one, that is good. Secondly- Check and confirm that the compressor is running Thirdly- If there is an evaporator fan inside the unit, check and confirm that is running.
If all checks okay and there is no cooling, the refrigerant might have escaped through a leak, and there will not be any cooling. You can extrapolate from my troubleshooting steps to diagnose the wine cooler problem.
Good luck

Compressor stops at proper humidity % but the fan keeps running.

Dehumidifiers are built that way. They keep moving air so it is able to keep any change of conditions moving around the room. On a dehumidifier, it the fan stops, your unit will short cycle becasue water will naturally evaporate from the water tank and it would turn on, then off, then on then off. The way it runs now is fine. Running the fan 24 hours on your dehumidifier cost nickels a day. Just let run.

I have a Danby small refrigerator model DCR412BLS. It turns on but it doesn't cool (i can hear the motor running in the back). It the motor blown?

You need to check the Condenser coils, these are copper coils of tubing usually located on the back of the unit. They need to be free of all dust and grease to work at maximumefficiencyand it is recommended to clean them every 6 to 10 months. If those coils are already clean, the next thing to do is check the evaporator fan(The fan inside the unit). See if it's running. If it's not, check the coils behind it. If the coils are frozen up then you probably have to change out the fan motor. If they aren't frozen up then there may be a refrigerant leak or a bad compressor*. In order to legally reclaim, recharge, or test refrigerants you need a special certification2_bing.gif from the EPA. If you need to do so I recommend you call in a certified technician.
*To replace the compressor you need to reclaim and recharge the refrigerants from the system.

Only the fan at the compressor turns on and off with the compressor cycle. The evaporator fan runs steady to maintain air circulation and temperature balance and to affect evaporator defrost in the off cycle. Sometimes the condenser fan will run continuously to assist in the evaporation of condensed moisture from the evaporator drainage.

Danby Silhouette Wine cooler won't cool. Need to know if I can fix it (freon charge maybe?) of if I should call someone to service it.

Hi sooner84,
I really like the Danby wine coolers, they are usually nice products. As far as your problem, I would first try to find out where the main problem area is. To do that first make sure that your compressor is running. If the compressor is running and it is not cooling then you may have a freon charge issue. Thats not to say that you can just put some more freon in and it is fixed, You would have a leak in your sealed system and you would most likely still have warranty coverage for that. Most Danby products carry a 5 year sealed system warranty. That would include your compressor.
If the compressor is not running then you would know that you have a compressor issue. Either the relay overload on the compressor would need to be replaced or the compressor itself was bad. You can buy relay kits for about $30.00 and intall them easily with very little experiance.
Next if the compressor is doing its thing and trying to cool you could have a fan not blowing air properly. either a condenser or evaporator fan may have stopped. If you find one not working then chances are you just need a fan. If the fans are blowing and the compressor is working then you would just have a defrost problem. In that case you would just need to defrost then check for bad parts, either a defrost heater, defrost thermostat or a defrost timer. Most of the Danby products have a defrost control board, that board willl contorl the defrost, the temperature, and the fans. If the board was cheap I would say just put one on and see if it fixed the problem, but they are around $145.00.
The most important thing for you would be to make sure you are not going to do something that would void your warranty. Free service is always the best. Good luck to you and send some wine my way, I make lots of different types. from grapes, strawberrys, muskedyne, etc.... mca0824@aol.com
