I have had the same problem after dry walling the basement. How long does this persist?

My husband sweats heavy and the latex mattress smells and there is mold growing. twice he used baking soda dry. Wet the surface with vinegar (not soak) and let it air dry, but he took an iron and ironed the latex mattress to quickly dry it and now there is a burnt stench. I took over, for three days I aired out the part of the mattress that is affected, used vinegar, baking soda, organic lemon scent odor destroyer (each time the mattress dries), it just left the mattress with a heavy sickening smell. I also used peroxide and the smell is faint but still there. I get sinus headaches and stuffy nose for days on end from the perfume, What can I use that is unscented. THNX.

If you have done any recent painting or drywall work, oftentimes the dryer will breathe these fumes and it will affect the smell of your clothes. (Just had the same problem) Maybe let the area air out and see if that corrects your problem

After I dry my clothes, I smell this dead animal smell. Thought it might be a dead animal, but could it be the ring around the drum that is burnt? My clothes now dry smell stinky. We took it all apart...

thats the mold and mildew on the bellow that you are smelling. thoroughly clean the bellow. i also suggest that you purchase a tablet called affresh. this will help to remove that smell. if your machine does not have a self clean cycle then just put the tablet in and do a regular wash. if you machine has a clean cycle, just put tablet in and set on clean cycle. I also recommend that after each load you thoroughly wipe off the bellow and leave the door open for about 30 minutes so that machine can air out.

Kenmore 70 dryer smells burnt

There could be dust settled on the motor inside from the few years in storage. Unplug and remove back, with a hoover brush **** off all dust but do this lightly as to not disturb any connections.

My dryer makes my clothes stink

You NEED to have a professional vent company clean your dryer out! PLEASE don't run your dryer when you're alseep or not at home due to a fire hazard! It sounds like the dryer is full of lint that's buring and make sure you clean your lint filter EVERY time you dry a load for safety's sake and energy efficiency.

When the dryer is running it smells like charcol ligher fluid

Sometime recently there has been a petroleum product used in the house. Possibly an oil based paint, stain, varnish, adhesive or some form of cleaning product.

Anyone of these products or many others like them, contain a distillate of liquid. Check around the house.

Until that oil based product dries or cures, the odor and vapors will remain and so will the dryer smell.

At the end of the drying cycle, use the air fluff cycle to purge out the smell. Besure to return the selector on the dryer back to it's prior postition.

Gas never ignites in any cycle in a 10yr old Kenmore dryer.

Chances are your igniter has gone bad. It must pull atleast 3.2 amps to open the gas valve and ignite the gas. A new igniter could probably purchased for 20 or 30 dollars.
