SOURCE: Cuisinart DCC-2000 12-Cup Coffee Maker shuts off after brewing

Turn the function knob to Auto Off
Hold down the hour button til you see the clock display blinking
you can then use the Hour and Minute buttons to program how long you want the coffee maker to stay on.
You can choose from 0 minutes (seems to be what you have it set on now) to 4 hours.

Replacement time. a certain percentage of thse have this problem. There is a small, non-replaceable tube in the inside toward the bottom that has become melted/damaged.

SOURCE: stopped working?

All coffee-makers are provided with a thermal fuse located near the heating element and in series with the element itself.
This device is bullet-shaped with one lead connected to the case, the other insulated from it. If there was no protection of this kind, it could lead to a fire if the heating element fails to get turned off when reaching its design temperature and nearly impossible to buy as replacement parts.
These are not user replaceable and both the thermal fuse and the bimetal switch that controls the current for the heating element have become increasingly less reliable as they are made in China and since we have little alternative, we have to either keep track of our warranty or just throw it away when it fails.
The fuses can fail at any time and I have brought back three coffee-makers in a five day period, all with the same failure, before giving up and getting a refund.
Another type of failure, namely of the bimetal switch occurs over time and reveals itself by the ever-longer brew time that is unaffected by dissolving the lime in the system. The heat sensitive metal switch part becomes gradually less responsive causing the machine to just cough instead of pump as when new.  The last one I tossed had reached 40+ minutes per pot.

SOURCE: Coffee overflows

I have a 1600 with the same problem. The problem is due to a poorly designed fit between the carafe and the drain plunger in the coffee basket. If you lift the carafe slightly, you will see the plunger has a long way to go. If you have the tendency to push the carafe fully to the back of the hotplate it makes this worse. OK, so now the fix, which worked for me. Find a small piece of plastic to glue to the top of the carafe lid. You just need a small dimple to push the coffee basket spring in further when you in sert the carafe on the hotplate. You should experiment a little first to see how thick it needs to be. Overall it's a poorly designed combination and someone needs a lesson in tolerancing.

The heater plate on cuisinart cbc-1600 coffee maker does not stay on after brewing cycle to keep coffee hot. is this normal operation?

The CBC-1600 comes with a thermal carafe. therefore, it doesn't rely on a heater plate to keep the coffee warm.

Woke up this morning and the coffeemaker did not auto brew. Now it won't brew at all. Dead? Nothing happening.

For starters, try plugging something else into that outlet, like a hair blow dryer to make sure your circuit breaker didn't kick off for some reason.

If you have power there plug your coffee maker in again and see. if it works, great. If not, you are probably going to be money ahead to just replace it as the cost of shipping and a repair won't be much less.

Of course if it is less than a year old you may have a warranty on it which would make it worth contacting Cuisinart Customer Service.

I have lost the manual for the Cuisinart Brew Central, model CBC-00, coffee maker. My question is this: What the "carafe temp" knob does with L and H selections? I assume it is to select the carafe...

Hello pdmkali,
Your assumption about the carafe temps is correct. The middle position gives you a medium temp, of course. I use it on low so that I don't burn my lips and tongue when I drink my coffee. Thank you for the opportunity to answer your question. If it is helpful, please leave positive feedback for me. It is appreciated. Regards, NormanZ :o)

Coffee maker won't brew

This one has two AUTO dial settings - AUTO-ON and AUTO-OFF. AUTO-OFF merely keeps the hot plate warm for a fixed period of time. AUTO-ON is the one that allows your coffeemaker to go off at the pre-programmed time in the morning.

If it is set to AUTO-ON, but is not brewing at the set time, unplug the machine for longer than 20 minutes. Then plug it back in, reset the clock, reset the prog time for a time that is just a few minutes into the future, and then test the auto-on feature.

If it stil ldoes not brew, just turn the machine to brew and press on. If it brews a pot, then your problem is electrical. If it doesn't brew a pot on the regular brew setting, then you either have: A) Calcium buildup/clog, or B) a hose leak (or worse).

To rule out the calcium buildup possibility, let half a caraffe worth of vinegar sit in the water reservoir for about an hour. After the hour, turn it to brew and press on, and brew the vinegar just as if it were coffee. If the vinegar goes through, your problem is solved.

Otherwise, call Cuisinart and find out if you are still in-warranty. Thep roduct has a 3-year warranty.

Good luck!
