Question about Insignia Dual 7" 16:9 Widescreen LCD Portable DVD Player

Insignia car dvd player car adapter doesn't work

I have a Insignia portable car dvd players.
It works fine when using AC power, but it does not work when I connect it to the cigarette lighter in my car.

The cigarette lighter works as it charges my GPS/phone etc.

It did work for a little while when I first got the system (1 1/2 years ago), but all of a sudden stopped.

Your power adapter for the car is not working. Check if there is any voltage output while plugged in.

Insignia Portable DVD cannot be powered on,it suddenly stopped coming on,and also need car charger if it can be fixed.it has a dual screen

I had the same problem. There is a fuse in the cigarette lighter that probably needs replaced. It's a slow blow fuse, the only place I was able to find it was Radio shack

What about a small, light power inverter, that plugs into your cigarette lighter in your car, and has 100 Watts available?

(Your laptop won't EVEN use 100 Watts! Look at the Ac adapter. (Charger)
Read the specifications on it.)

You might have cooked it.  Do you know the power ratings on the car lighter adapter you used and do they match what's on the bottom of the DVD player?

Buy an adapter such as the one in this link to convert AC power to a 12V "cigarette Lighter" outlet.
