Question about Home Security

Monitor DVR is connected to, periodically switches to screen asking for update This does not effect camera views on mobile devices. Have to unplug power from Dvr to clear update screen.

Equipment being used: kkmoon 4 channel Dvr and a 19" Acer AV1920 also switched to a 17" Dell monitor but does the same thing. I am positive it is the Dvr asking for the update, (which I don't have or can't locate) but don't know why it doesn't effect any of my mobile/wireless monitoring devices.

SOURCE: dell 17'' flat panel monitor power light is blinking

some transistors on the board have shorted they supply power to the inverter to run the lamps, they power is not cut off intermittently and the protection circuit has stopped the monitor. the fix is here

You would probably be best off buying another monitor from Uniden. The system is a proprietary system made to control the operation. Uniden is the only one that can answer if there program you can use on a laptop.

When you try to connect different devices and nothing works, most of the time the common factor is defect. I mean when the DVR is defect, you can connect 100 different monitors, but non will ever show a thing.
On the other hand when you are not 100% sure you have a working monitor, how would you test a DVR?
Make sure you always have at least every thing in the cain working, before you use a chain to test an unknown device.
And in this chain also make sure the cables and connectors are all in working order.

Sounds like maybe your IP address changed from what it was for the first three weeks. Unless you pay your ISP extra for a static IP address, they are subject to periodic changes. I don't know how your mobile monitoring app finds your IP address but you should investigate what your IP address is currently and whether this needs to be updated somewhere.

Camera don't want to connect to android tablet

A couple things to check. Sometimes the router will not allow you to use an Outside IP address to view your cameras if you are Inside the same network as the DVR. I know AT&T for sure does not allow you to go from inside your network, to an outside IP address that directs you back to your inside network. Sorry is this sounds confusing. To test this, turn WiFi off on your Android and try to access the cameras. If you cannot connect inside or outside your network, then you should try to verify you can connect with a computer. Use a PC or laptop to see if your cameras are visible. If you can access the cameras on PC, make sure there is not another port that needs to be opened for the mobile devices. Geovision DVRs for instance require some changes in the DVR itself to allow mobile devices to connect. Email me back with your DVR model and what carrier you have, the phone model and the internet provider. But you must first try getting to view your cameras on a PC to see if the setup was the issue. Lorex troubleshooting

The most common reason for loss of camera remote video is an intermittent cable connection between camera and DVR. Try monitoring with a VGA monitor, or TV with analog VGA input also to see if that is the case. Gently move the cables around that run from the cameras to the DVR while observing the multiple cameras showing on the monitor. Some remote viewing software has trouble restoring camera assignments after brief loss of camera signal.

Yes you can definitely view your CCTV footage on your mobile phone at your work via internet. Sentient CCTV DVR basically is a night vision camera. You must know the IP of the camera and IP Video server. Connecting your phone to CCTV camera via the protocol you can view the CCTV footage's in your phone. Night vision cameras are used for surveillance purpose. I would prefer cctv camera with ir illuminator for good image quality in the night time that will clear footage quality in my phone.
Recently many new applications have also being launched by security cameras with a view to solve problem you mentioned.

Hi there !

I believe it is a monitor driver issue, I suggest that you upgrade your monitor driver using internet connection to get the latest driver or install again the monitor driver that comes from your CD.

Normally when there is problem on hardware like your monitor, the drivers are mostly affected. I believe the monitor driver is corrupt that cause an error in your monitor.

Try to upgrade by going to control panel, click the view by large icon, choose on device manager, choose monitors, on the submenu of that monitor, press right click to view the update driver software, just click that to get driver updates through internet. After updates finished, restart your computer to take effect the new setting and try to check if it solves your problem.

It has something to do with the software and hardware as well.
