Remove the outer cover and either set it out in the sun or bring it indoors to completely dry out. May take several days. Unplugged rotate the blade once it is dry and then try it. You may have to lubricate any bearings on the motor.

Last resort - spray inside the motor lightly with WD40

SOURCE: I have Black and decker electric lawn mower does not start

one of the problems i found with electric detectors was that they do not tell you if there is a break in the neutral cable so you could have a break there, another problem is that the levers can break inside the cover giving the impression that it should work but is not making contact with the switch ,hope this helps

SOURCE: lawn mower husqvarna problem

I have an XT721F self-propelled, auto choke Husqvarna mower. The first time I used it this season it ran for a short time and then just quit on me. I have since emptied out all of the gas and have replaced it with high octane 91, and have also added Seafoam to clean out any other issues. I mowed two weeks ago with no problems and went to mow again today and only made it through 2/3 of my back yard and the mower stalled out on me again. What's going on?

SOURCE: craftsman riding lawn mower won t cut grass

Does it die when you attempt to engage the cutting deck? If so the you might have a clogged fuel filter, bad gas, dirty air filter, bad spark plug.
Or the mower engage switch may be faulty. They are located in different places on different mowers. But should be attached somewhere along the main pivot of the engage lever. Let me know if you need more assistance. Good Luck!!

I have a tandem pacer 2400 lawn mower, my gardener was cutting fairly wet grass, it tripped the power and now does not start, even left it for a few hours ? thank you Vanessa

have the lead to the mower tested and tagged
if there is any insulation problems in the lead , then the rcd breaker will trip from earth leakage problems

wet grass is very heavy to cut so the motor may have overheated
press the reset button if it has one or have the electrician doing the test and tag of the cord also check the motor

moisture and power do not mix so electric mowers are only suitable for dry cutting

AFTER RUNNING OUT OF GAS, THE MOWER WONT START

Neal, If lawn mower does not start after running out of gas, change fuel filter if equipped, chances are the carburetor has gotten clogged with sediment/dirt from bottom of tank. Remove carb. and disassemble, clean/rebuild. Check the attached links, instruction and guides, Good luck

Lawn mower won't run. Cannot start it.

sometimes the primer bulb gets cracked and wont properly pump fuel into the carb. replacement of the bulb should fix the problem.

Not Staying Started

I can't tell you how many pieces of small equipment I have been given for free because it "just won't start" or "won't stay running". Start by draining the tank and cleaning it out - use a good carb cleaner. It only takes a grain of sand to create a problem. You may have to take the carb apart and clean that out too.

Electric mower keeps slowing down and stopping

Two things come to mind. The brushes in the motor should be replaced. (Get them at a local motor repair shop, but take one of them in with you to get the correct one). If that is not the problem it may be the switch in the handle that you turn it on and off with. The switch may be corroded or bent. Good luck...Lee

My lawn mower doesn't start and when it does, smoke comes out of exhaust

you may need to change the oil and/or empty the old gas and replace it with new.

This thing happens when you don't take care of your lawn mower for too long.
