Electric stapler won't staple; Panasonic as300 will fire but no staples come out and I do not see any jammed staples when I open the cassette.

How do you open the cassette? I am actually trying to figure out how to open the Panasonic electric stapler model AS-300. I called Panasonic, and they want to charge us 58 cents (Yes, less than a dollar) to order this product manual. I was already on the line with their rep for more than 10 minutes and then after she transferred me, I got a busy signal. I found this in our supply cabinet at work & I'm really not wanting to waste any more time waiting to pay for and receive this item via the snail mail just to find out if this ancient electric stapler even works. Thank you, Barbara L.

On the side of the stapler are the instructions - no joke - stick a flathead at the lip of the metal striker and push the flat head up - while pushing the realse at the back - use A LOT of force - that is how ours popped open. It was jammed in the back with several staples that were not visible as a jamb in the front where the staples come out. the whole magazine will pop out when it is freed.

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR ENTRY. I THOUGHT I WOULD NEVER FIGURE THIS OUT. JUST TO CLARIFY, THE FLATHEAD GOES ABOVE THE FRONT OF THE MAGAZINE. I WAS TRYING TO PRY THE MAGAZINE UP, BUT FINALLY PLACED THE FLAT HEAD ABOVE THE MAGAZINE AND IT POPPED RIGHT OPEN. THANKS AGAIN.

Swingline Optima 45 Stapler - cannot slide tray back in stapler, no staples jamming

Sometimes the rectangular insert where the staples sit on, gets dislodged. On the underside of channel insert is a spring and when correctly seated is in between the tabs of the bottom piece. If the insert isn't in between the tabs, it sits too high and makes it difficult to open and close the staple tray. The staples will jam.

There could be a piece of a broken staple jammed in the stapling mechanism. I checked mine and there are two screws on the bottom that can be removed to expose the interior. The broken staple jam occurs often with mechanical staplers so the electrics probably have similar failures.

Hi, I can't load my powershot pro electric stapler/nailer with staples. It fires, but staples do not advance forward. Any help?

Remove all staples and inspect for a rouge staple that may be jamming the staples to advance. Unplug first.

Panosonic Electric Stapler does not staple paper!

It could be either jammed up with staples or the spring mechanism is shoddy.

Instructions on unjamming swingline electric stapler model 270; jam is at the front of the stapler; staplers come out either broken, flaten or crooked and does not secure document.

First, are you using the recommended staples for this stapler? Many heavy duty electric staplers don't use "standard" desk staples. Second, try unplugging the stapler, unloading the staples, and if possible, reach a couple of fingers into the stapler and try manually pushing up on the staple head to see if you can get the driver blade to come down. Does it come down smoothly, or does it seem like there is something stuck in there? If you aren't sure about disassembling the unit (my usual method-but I'd recommend having the parts diagram handy), try using a flashlight to look at the underside of the staple head, where the staples come out - can you see anything stuck in there? If so, you might be able to use a small knife blade or small dental pick to get jammed staple pieces out.

AS 300 electric stapler--pulled out jammed staples but even though it staples, it won't grab the staples (staples as though empty)

What has most likely happened is part of a staple is stuck in the front portion of the stapler where it forms the staple and presses it into the stapler.
You would most likely have to remove the stapler, and remove the binding staple from the stapler head.
