SOURCE: What r the best settings for a Power Acoustic PEQ-73 7Band passive eq, electronic crossover, sub woofer level control

Depends on your room, speakers being used, size of sub woofer, amp set up ect.
There is no "best setting" for every application. If that was the case a variable control would not be needed.

Some rooms are boomy, which would lead you to turn down low freq's. Some rooms are very splashy, in which case high will need to come come down. Some rooms are very dead in either lows or highs, in which case those freq's would need to be increased.

To get a baseline on what your rooom is like send some pink noise through your system and analyze it with a RTA. (real Time Analizer) There are free apps you can use on your phone or pro audio products that do a very good job. With pink noise being pushed through the system you will see what freqencies are naturally louder or softer in your room. Then you can adjust that real time on your eq and see the changes.

This will set your room to a flat response, however lots of people don't like that sound and want more punch, growl, or clarity. In that case simply adjust the low, mids or highs to your own listening preference

How can I connect this EQ on my mustang I don't have amplifier right now only the EQ

an eq is kind of like an amplifier anyway it boost the sound and tailors the sound to your taste. Your eq should have a wiring diagram on the bottom or top of the unit. Your factory radio should have a wiring diagram on top or bottom of it as well. So all you have to do is match left + to left + and right + to right + etc. It's really easier than you think. You just have to pay close attention to the diagrams.

How to wire it to make the bass cuts off when offing the eq

This unit has a separate EQ band for the subwoofer-- you'd connect the sub-out from your CD player to the sub input on the EQ, and the sub-out from the EQ into the input on the sub amp.
The "sub" slider would then adjust the sub volume.
If your CD player doesn't have a sub-out, and you are just using one of the regular front/rear outputs to feed the sub amp, then the sub volume will follow the other sliders toward the left side of the unit, which is less desirable.

Sony ICF-7600 7Band power adapter polarity question

Hello Xiar, Yes the center pin is positive. You have to use any regulated 6volt DC adapter. It may be a good ideea to put a 6v regulator (xx7806) after the adaptor bridge. I have a icf7600 fm/mw/sw 7band receiver too and I`m looking for the service manual or the pcb layout for it. If it by chance you have it mail me at Regard, Alex

Wireing instruction

Use the tape loop on the receiver, and connect the REC out to the input of the EQ. The output of the EQ goes to play in on the amp. If you have a tape loop on the EQ, then this is where you connect a tape deck. Engage the tape monitor and be sure that you have selected the source you want to EQ on the rec out selector(if you have one).

This is the only way to connect an EQ if the amp is without pre-in pre-out connections. If they are, then use them in the same manor as the tape loop. Good luck, get back to me here is you have any problems. A "FixYa" rating will help my profile and would be great for my time giving you this info. Cheers
