My casio fx-cg50 won't graph any function, says "invalid type"

I tried resetting but still nothing. Called and emailed tech support but they couldn't help.

I may be imagining things, but I see curly brackets. That notation is reserverd for lists. Remove the brackets and you will see the graph.

When I try to graph it says argument error

Your function is not correctly defined. If graph is function y=f(x), variable must be x; if graph is polar, variable must be theta, and if graph is parametric, variable must be t. This does not cover all possible cases. Check the graph type and the definition of the function.

This is not a graphing calculator. Besides, most graphing calculators are able to graph functions, and conics are not functions. You need a utility that graphs conics. The Casio FX-9750G and others have a conics utility. On the TI83/84 Plus you can download an application that draws them.

When I type in a function for y1 and have it in standard form the calculator says range Error. How do I change the range, because it wont let me go to the graph. Which is where I would then click V-window...

A linear function in standard form is of the form Ax+By+C=0, where A is a positive integer, B and C are integers (positive or negative).
The problem is that calculators graph a function given in functional form y= ax+b.Thus to graph a function in standard form by means of a graphing utility you must isolate the y variable. The interesting thing about the Prizm (Casio graphing calculator) is that you select which variable to isolate y (usually) or x if you so choose. To choose to graph the function x=Dy+E you must select the function type as X=.

How to graph polar equations

Your calculator does not have graphing capabilities. On a graphing calculator you would first select the graph type 1. function y= f(x), 2. parametric x=x(t), y=y(t), 3.polar r=function(theta).

How do I graph sinx on my Casio fx-9750GII calculator?

Turn calculator ON
If you see no icons, press Menu
Press 3 (Graph) draw your function. (more on that later).
If the first line of the display show Graph Func : Y= you should be able to draw your function.
If it says anything else, press F3 TYPE to select the graph type and select functional by pressing F1 key Y=.
After the graph type is set to Y=, type the second member of your function y= f(x) on the first line. Make sure the = sign after Y1= remains highlighted after you move cursor. Otherwise select the function by pressing F1:SEL. Press F6 Draw.
Be careful with trigonometric functions. If angle unit is radian, set window Zoom to standard. If angle unit is degree, you must open the Window utility and set Xmin=-190, Xmax = 190 to see at least a period.

Non linear graphs

All graphs, except the linear function y=ax+b, are non-linear. To graph a function, just enter the GRAPH utility, type in the functions Y1=, Y2=, ... and press the Draw tab.
If you have a specific question, ask it.

How do i use the fx-300es to graph

Sorry but you cannot do that. This is not a graphing calculator. However you can generate a table of values for your function (MODE TABLE) and use it to graph the curve by hand (pencil and paper).

If you need a Casio graphing calculator, one of the cheaper ones is the Casio FX-9750GII. Equivalent Texas Instruments calculators are the TI83PLUS/TI84PLUS.

How to use graphing calculator?

The casio FX-300Ms calculator cannot do graphs. To tell you how to use a graphing calculator TO DRAW GRAPHS we need to know the exact brand and model number of the calculator.

Most graphing calculators basically function the same way.
You select the graph type (function, polar,parametric, sequence, 3D, wire mesh, slope field, etc.)
You enter the algebraic form of the function you want to draw.
You press a button or menu to GRAPH
The graph is drawn.
If you want to see a particular part of the graph, you use a ZOOM function, or you enter values for the WINDOW dimensions.
Most graphing calculators have a TRACE function that allow you to follow the curve you have drawn to read off values of coordinate points.
You can also use the calculator to find zeros roots) of functions, calculate derivatives at some chosen points or calculate the area "under the curve", find the minimum and maximum of a function.

In addition to its graphing capabilities, a graphing calculator can be used as a scientific calculator. Sometimes it can also do statistical and financial calculations, matrices, list manipulations, operations on complex numbers, text editing,, creating programs etc.

How to grahic using casio fx-9750GII

To draw graphs.

Turn calculator ON (isn't that obvious?)
If you see no icons, press [MENU]
Use arrow to move focus on GRAPH and press [EXE]
By default, the graph type is Y=
Enter your equation on line Y1=, use the [X,theta,T] key to enter the X-variable
Press [EXE] when finished entering a function.
Enter other functions if you want.
When done, press [F6:Draw].
If you do not see a big portion of the curve you can press [SHIFT] [F2:Zoom] and select [F5:Auto]

I am enclosing screen captures. The screens you see may not look exactly as on the FX-9750G, but all menu commands you have to execute are accessed by the same key sequences.
