SOURCE: ice maker failure

1) Check the filler tube which allows water to enter the dispenser through the back wall of the freezer. This tube may be frozen inside. You can pull the tube out gently and clear it.

2) The inlet valve may be faulty/blocked. Where the water connects to the water valves behind the fridge, try to swap the plugs around from the one valve to the other. They should be colour coded. Then try dispensing water. If water runs into the ice-maker then the ice maker valve is faulty/blocked.

SOURCE: ice maker not working ; water dispenser ok

The reason could be several different possibilities. the water control valve for the ice maker no longer works or one of the many components inside the ice maker is needing replace or adjusted. Go to link below and enter model ED5VHGXM into model search. Click on photo #12 ice maker and you get a breakdown of of all the parts. Let me know, Sea Breeze

Ice maker stopped working. jumped it and it cycles thru but no wa

First, I'm not a Whirlpool Tech. You should have a qualified tech check and service your equipment. (Lots of water and high voltages present.)
*** The following is for information only.***
* Check if Ice full sensor. May be stuck in 'Full' position.
* Check BOTH water fill solenoid and filter (on solenoid) for debris.
* Check water flow; Source, Water filter In, Water filter out, Solenoid inlet screen, Solenoid outlet.
* Check water fill tube for kinks, cracked, or disconnected
* Final, be safe and call your vendor for service.

Model ed22dqxaw10 - water enters the ice maker

If the water enters as if it were on a timed basis it would be clear that your ice maker either needs rebuilt or replaced. All signals are sent to the water control valve from the ice maker. The ice maker if working properly will begin its cycle when the thermostat tells the icemaker to begin by heating the elements below the ice maker to warm slightly to loosen the ice from their ice slots. After that any confusion would be in the front of the ice maker to tell the water to come on before the ice maker emptys its ice and begins a 7 second refill of water. If you would like to rebuild your ice maker click HERE and enter your model number ED22DQXAW10 then click on photo 11 ice maker on left of screen. If you would prefer a Replacement Icemaker Click Here=> P/N: 4317943 Try disconnecting the ice maker side of your dual water dispenser to insure that it is not the problem. Ice maker working, water stopped dispensing

This could indicate the water valve on back that sends water to ice maker is not working. The coil can be checked with an ohm meter. I also can help you diagnose the problem. Send the model number of your refrigerator so I can help you better, Thanks, Sea breeze seabreezehvac@yahoo.com

Ice Maker not working

Start by cleaning the condenser with a brush and a shop vac. Then get some nickleguard ice machine cleaner and wash the units plate's down going by package directions, then retry before calling a tech. It may start working but if it does not then it may save you some money by having the unit clean before the tech gets there. Ice machines are not a DIY repair. Sowwy

I have a Whirlpool ED5GTGXN000 and the ice maker stopped working. Water dispenser is still working.

The refrigerator has a duel water valve, one for the ice-maker and one for the water dispenser. The valve that the ice-maker relies on may be bad, or it could be the ice-maker itself.
Another thing that could cause it would be the temperatures in the freezer. The ice-maker will not call for water until it reaches under 15 degrees. In addition, check the water tube behind the ice-maker to make sure it is not frozen, blocking more water from entering. The water does not go to the ice-maker or thru the filter unless the ice-maker turns on the water valve.
