Unlikely. You check it is has power, you check if it is seized, you replace it.

SOURCE: High speed spa pump shuts off

The motor may have a thermal cutoff if the motor draws too much current. Do you have a sufficient large gauge circuit supplying the motore? If not the actual voltage at the motor may drop, causing it to draw more current to make up for the loss of voltage, thereby tripping the motor's protective breaker. I assume the motor will start again after serveral minutes of cooling down.

SOURCE: 3E-34N spa pump, very hot to the touch. Motor is

Put a clamp ammeter at one of the electrical supply wire and take note of the running current reading (amperes) with the motorpump running. Compare this with the rated current of the motor. It must be lower or equal to the rated current. From your comment that it is very hot to touch, I assume that the running current reading is higher than the rated current. To lower the running current, install a service **** or flow control valve at the discharge line. Then, put back the clamp ammeter at one of the electrical supply line/wire. Start the pumpmotor and slowly close the service ****/flow control valve until your running current reading is 85% to 90% of the rated current (amperes). I can assure you that the motor temperature will be lower.

Bearings for electric motor

replacing bearings can be tricky, but if you are willing to try most of these motors use 6203 2rs c3 bearings all for the back bearing, the front could be 3 different sizes. after removing them bring the rotor to your local pool pump motor repair shop, and have them remove and replace. about $20.

Motor runs but will not pump

Remove the unit and open up the pump end and inspect the impeller for blockage or perhaps it is broken; clear or replace as needed. You should also replace the pump seal at the same time. If these seem beyond your ability a local electric motor repair shop should be able to do this for you for less than $60.

You shorted the 230 lines at the motor terminal board. If you are certain you have reset any and all breakers feeding the spa and that the 230V is getting back to the pump motor then you blew the winding leads as you shorted the motor. While it is possible a motor shop could repair the leads it is far more likely the damage caused will cause the price to be that or more of a replacement motor.

Pump noisy on speed one sounds like plastic caught in the pump volute

Assuming you checked to be sure nothing was broken inside the pump and no foreign object was inside it would then be your motor bearings starting to fail and/or the motors internal starting switch mechanism. Your best bet is to take the unit to a local electric motor repair shop (at the begining of the week if the tub might freeze) for them to inspect the motor/pump for damage and quote repairs or a new unit.

Find a local electric motor repair shop and see if the motor is repairable. If not, a new motor and possibly the pump will be required.

My Mustang pool motor by Waterway musts-120 is just humming when it is turned on. It is connected to a timer, but the pump is working fine, just the motor is humming. What do I do? Is my motor toast?

Check your loacl yellow pages for an electric motor repair shop. They may find it is fixable but could at least tell you if it is salvagable or not. Some even carry replacement motors at costs lower than the pool stores.
