You could but it would be most unwise to do so and in some places you could be infringing the law as well as putting your safety, the safety of your bikes, trailer and anyone else in the vicinity when there is a very loud explosion...

Far better idea is to have the heater and the installation checked for any faults and get them fixed. Usually when the safety device(s) kick in, the pilot usually remains lit albeit often a short weak looking flame in the case of oxygen starvation.
If the pilot is blown out due to draught the main flames will shut off soon afterwards, though what you describe does sound more like a loss of gas and/or gas pressure as if the bottle is freezing or the regulator hasn't enough capacity or the pipework is too small...

SOURCE: Pilot won't stay lit on

I would check the flue out side first to make sure it is not blocked. If flue looks good i would try cleaning or replace thermalcoupl. Most of the dyna glo heater i have worked on have a thermal pile instead of thermalcoupl. If you have a thermal pile then i would lite pilot and hold knob down for about 3-5 minutes before you turn gas valve knob to on. If that doesnt work let me no and i can give you somemore ideas. I hope you get it working. What is the tempature out side?

SOURCE: I have a Dyna-Glo vent-less wall mounted natural gas heater

If it is a few years old, it could be the thermocouple. These are usually available from Lowes. Take your model/serial # and if you can, take the old part too.

CAN YOU TELL ME HOW TO REPLACE THE THERMOCOUPLE IN A DYNA-GLO PROPANE HEATER?

These thermocuoples are some of the finest ever made. The pilot not staying lit means you automatically want to try and change the thermocouple which is a costly one. And that will not fix the problem. The problem with these ODS pilots is they get dusty in summer. The safety device needs to be flushed to clear out the dust. I use rustbuster to gently flush out the pilot. I let it dry out and then light the pilot.

We have a dynna glo zero clearance for Natural Gas

Before you attempt to covert to lp. You need to check the flue. Black smoke is cause by incomplete combustion. So it may be now plug with black soot. Heat-exchanger may be damage Before you invest in a lp kit. Make sure it is worth it. To convert you need the main burner orifices and lp spring for gas value. Once you replace these parts you must adjust gas pressure, nat gas is measured at 3.2 - 3.5wc lp is measured 10.5 - 11.00 wc. In my honest opinion this is to dangerous for customer to attempt. Please a HVAC contractor inspect unit and install lp kit.

Pilot light lights but when turnd on it does not get hot and shuts off in 1or2 minuts

This is normally caused by the thermocouple. This is the part the pilot light heats up to let the heater know the gas is on and the pilot light is lit. The heater will shut off if it thinks the pilot light is not lit for safety reasons. You will need to change the thermocouple for it to work again correctly.

Blue flame heater pilot wont stay lit

There is a therma-couple that the flame burns against. When it is working correctly it allows gas to travel to the flame. When it goes out you get no gas, as a safety feature. Replace the therma couple and it should work again.
