Enter the correct time of day by touching the numbers above in sequence.
(for example: for 12:30, touch 1 2 3 0)

I tried this method (found on many other sites as well) and I keep getting an ERROR message. it just won't let me set the clock :-(

• Christopher Flynn Feb 12, 2012

Did you ever find out the answer? I have the same problem......

• Oleg Urzhumtsev Oct 06, 2013

It takes only 12-hr format with leading 0 (e.g. 0215 for 2:15, both am and pm)

If the time is *NOT* a four (4) character (i.e. 2:15, 6:30, 9:45, etc), you need to insert a zero before the other characters (i.e. 0215, 0630, 0945). That may be why you're getting an error message.

Just a thought...

Hit Stop/Clear, hit Timer/Clock, enter 4-digit time, eg 0830, hit Timer/Clock again. Sets the clock.

To use the timer, enter the number of minutes/seconds you want and hit Timer/Clock. Worked for mine.

Press Timer/Clock button until the ":" blinks. Then set the time i.e.12:04, then press Clock/Timer button again. You are set!

SOURCE: i have a sharp carousel

The easiest way I can remember is to turn off the power, then back on... this will make the display flash, then press stop/clear.

Then press clock, enter the time eg: for 9 am or pm enter 9.00 and press clock again.

Hope this helps.

Microwave_svc's site is awesome! I was able to get all the help I needed for a similar Sharp Carousel microwave. My bulb was simply loose in the socket base causing intermittent bulb lighting. Microwave_svc's helpful links got me to the service manual and, along with a nice set of "tamper-proof" screw compatible TORX bits I bought at HarborFreight, I was easily able to get cover off, remove bulb socket, tighten bulb, re-install bulb socket, button unit back up, and, voila, the light now works without intermittent blinking. FIXYA!!!!

Many thanks to guru microwave_svc!!!!!!!

Manufacturers used to include access panels in the rear or side so you could easily change the bulb. That exposed the customer to 110V connectors, and that posed a real liability threat, so they stopped using them.

You now must generally remove the outer cover to replace the bulb.

The service manual (available at our site) shows how and shows that the lamp is mounted in the air duct near the magnetron. See http://www.microwavedisplay.com/r510hk_hw_sm.pdf

Part # is RLMPTA086WRZZ and you should be able to get that generically locally but if not, you can get it form Tritronics at http://www.wehaveparts.com

If you or a friend decide to work on it, we have *critical* safety, disassembly, and troubleshooting info at our site, which is linked at our listing here on FixYa: http://tinyurl.com/yzjozk

if you google the model number and the brand you should be listed with a series of sites that supply manuals, service manuals, etc.
