Lcd sounds like it's dying or possibly cracked somewhere, i recommend replacing it, it's not that difficult

The only solution for a physically damaged LCD unit is replacement of the screen itself.

This is really not recommended for those who have little experience inside of laptops as unlike conventional PCs, data and power cables are often much smaller. In addition, motherboards tend to be proprietary between brands so the inside of one laptop could be completely different to another.

I would recommend buying an identical replacement screen on Ebay and taking it to your local corner PC store.

Black spots laptop screen

Pinpointed spots can be damaged pixels that no longer light up when energized. They cannot be repaired and you will have to live with them, or get a new display. Try to use the Color Adapter port to a standard LCD Screen. On the side of the computer is a small 9 pin (usually blue) port whereby you can attach a desktop monitor as an alternative to the LCD Panel on the laptop.

Price of Dell Inspiron 9200 lcd panel?

Yes! but it is a good idea to hook a spare monitor to the video output first to make sure there is no problem, if okay! replace the LCD screen. Go to www.ebay.com Type: make and model of the laptop and refine search to screen, a list of sellers will pop up showing the prices.

Bottom Half of Laptop Screen quickly fades to white!

1. you can replace it with a new screen. (expensive) 2. have a technician to repair the board of the screen, the cable, the IC's, etc. (save you money but the length of repair is very long. maybe it will take a week or two.)
your choice.

My dell inspiron 1501 laptop has been flickeri ng colors or a lrge strip down middle , now half the screen is black with little color line

hello
This could be anything from the screen is dying or the inverter (electronic board that powers the screen' back light).

If you press slightly at the top of the screen, see if the lines will disappear or not, if it does then come back again; you might need to change your lcd.
hope it helped

Dell Inspiron 1501 screen half black

Had the same problem. Fixed it though. Here's how:
You'll notice that the screen comes back to life if you press down on the very top of the green line. This is because a controller circuit board behind the LCD screen (at the top) is pressure fit flat-surface-to-flat surface to the contacts on the back of the LCD. Eventually, the sticky substance that holds this circuit board in place wears thin, collects dust, etc.. and the connection between the circuit board and the lcd contact is lost. The line appears where this break in contact has occured.
So, the solution is to increase the pressure at that point to reestablish the connection. I wasn't able to remove the circuit board to clean beneath it as it seemed too likely to cause damage. Nor would I have had the right adhesive to connect it back, so I simply removed the LCD and put a bunch of tape at that point so that it would "push" with a little more pressure when screwed back into place. Worked great.
To remove the LCD, pull off the 6 feet around the screen. Remove the screws behind them. Carefully pry off bezel with a small flathead screwdriver working your way around it. Once removed there are simply 4 screws on the left and 4 more on the right of the LCD to remove. Pull out screen carefully and start stacking bits of tape on the spot where pressure seems to work best. Put it back in and see if you've made any difference. I did this with the computer on so I could verify my results. Just be careful not to short out any naked contacts.
If this doesn't work for you, at least you'll know you just need to replace the LCD, not the video card. Easily found on ebay.

I am using DELL Inspiron 6000 laptop.Suddenly half of the screen of my laptop is showing multi color lines. I am able to view only the upper half of the screen. Please suggest me what needs to be done

attach an external monitor to be certain the video card is ok,
next
Re-seat the video card cable to the lcd screen,
dell site explains how to remove top and keyboard.

your real issue may be the cable itself or the lcd screen.
