TLK3 T3 Motorola permanent static noise

Hello,

I've got a pair of TLKR T3. It seems my kids played with it, and now I get a permanently alot of static noise from one of the receiver. The "little antenna" sign is also always on. I tried to switch it off using the menu key without success.

Thanx for helping

The "MONITOR" is probably stuck on. You can go to
http://www.mods.dk/manual.php?brand=motorola and login (its free) and download the manual and look for how to turn off the "MONITOR" function.

There is a Squelch Trimmer inside the Motorola T3, open the case and turn the trimmer with a small screwdriver until you will hear no sound. (be very gentle not to break anything or short circuit) and test for reception before closing the case. Do not touch anything else. PS: Your kids did not do anything wrong, T3's are faulty from the beginning.

If you have receiving problems you have to change the SAW filter. I used a ceramic capacitor of 1nf instead. Check this for details:https://www.fixya.com/support/t15078835-m...

If you are not into electronics do not try to change this filters by yourself. This filters are cheap (0,5$) and you can pay someone with experience to change it for you.

Motorola TLKR T3 one way not working but Monitor works...

Check your Private Line (aka interference eliminator code, tone code, PL, quiet call). It sounds like you have one radio set with a PL setting and the other one is open squelch (no private line). All settings for frequency and PL code need to be the same between the two radios.

We don't have a manual for the T3, but I am attaching one for the T5, which may be similar. http://www.motorola.com/web/Business/Products/Two-Way%20Radios%20-%20Unlicensed/_Documents/TLKR-T%20series/Static%20Files/T5%20Manual%20EU.pdf

Best regards.

One of my tlkr-t3 walkie talkie's will not recieve.

One of my tlkr-t3 walkie talkie's will not recieve.

They worked fine the first time we tried them out. Then they were put away for several weeks, and when they've been switched on, one now doesn't send. I checked this by the other putting in scan mode but it doesn't stop scanning at the channel it is assumed to send with. I tried all the channels for sending but neither one is detected. The other way around, so the first one in scanning mode, the 2nd in send mode, works fine (the scanning stops at the channel of the sending one, as expected).
So my conclusion is, that one doesn't send.
I interchanged the (fresh) batteries, but this doesn;t change.
So what could be the problem?

Motorola tlkr t3 both units power up ok they are

Your PL or DPL is not set correctly.

Check your owners manual, you can set this with the user buttons on the radio.
Press and hold the PTT button while turning the radio on. this will put the radio in the programing mode.
Be careful, if you do not know how to set the PL DPL or frequency you could make the problem worse.

I have a TLKR-T3 and a T5720 radios. can they communicate? Thanks

No, they have no frequencies in common. The TLKR-T3 uses the PMR446 frequencies common in Europe. The T5720 uses FRS freqeuncies common in the USA.
