Check the drivers,is it already installed or not.If using windows, open the control panel, then click on the system( monitor icon),then click on Hardware Tab, click on device manager, when there's yellow (?) mark, you need to install the driver for it.

Built in mouse has not worked properly from day 1. Now my external mouse won't work either. I tried a different external moue, but it doesn't work either.

Unplug everything except the power cord, including the following:

Speakers
Printers
Scanners
USB devices
Personal Digital Assistants (PDAs)
USB flash drive or other external storage devices
External Monitor
External Keyboard
External Mouse
If your computer is attached to a docking station, undock it.

Make sure the touchpad or your finger has no dirt, grease, liquids or food on it (the touchpad has to make a good contact with your finger to work correctly).

Turn the computer back on and retest the touchpad.

When the touchpad still does not work correctly proceed to step 5.

When the touchpad does work correctly, attach one external device at a time and test the touchpad to see which one may have caused the issue.

Make sure the latest driver for the touchpad is installed (you may need to use a external USB or Bluetooth mouse), for more information refer to:

My mouse works fine while logging into my desktop but once i get there my mouse freezes up ????

Do you have an external mouse plugged in, if not, you may want to uninstall the Snapytics Driver. (not perfect spelling) but this driver disables the internal mouse if it has a problem or if an external such as usb is detected.

Cusor goes crazy and goes an does whatever it wants won;t respond to any touch pad movements

If an external mouse does not fix the problem, then it may be an internal O/S or connection fault.
