Question about Whirlpool GU2400XTP Built-in Dishwasher
The top water sprayer/spinner keeps falling off. I have to remove the top/back water channel to locate the small plastic button that holds this spinner in place. It was lose inside the top section of that. The button still has ridges to retain it slightly but obviously not enough to keep it on.

decrete, you want to get down to the chopper and screen. If the screen is plugged up with gunk there won't be enough pressure to reach the top spray arms. Check out the posted pics. Remove the lower spray arm. Rotate the rear feed arm to the right until it unsnaps from the tube going up the back. See the 4 torq screws holding the filter on. Remove them. Lift the filter up. Now you will see the chopper inlet cover. 1 torq screw holding it in. Lift it up and there's the chopper and screen. Catriver..post back

I came here today looking for the solution to this same problem! However, I might be able to help a little...in searching the bottom of the dishwasher, I found the pointed plastic piece for mine. To put it back in, here's what I did -- the 'vanes' of the spinner face the top of the dishwasher, align the center hole of the spinner with the hole in the 'ceiling' of the dishwasher. Push the small plastic piece (pointed end up) up through the center of the spinner and snap it into place, attaching it to the dishwasher. However, whenever I put mine back in, it comes out in the next wash. I'm assuming that my spinner keeps coming out because my plastic piece is worn(?) I was wondering if there was a screw involved to hold it into place, but from your description of the parts bag (spinner and plastic snap) perhaps there is not. I'll order my replacement part and see if that fixes it. Anyone who knows about this for sure -- please post for us! Thanks!

SOURCE: Top spinner
Hi - I have the same problem. I found a parts site that sells the spinner and the parts to hold it in place. Maybe your parts are broken. Read the customer review at the bottom. Anyways, maybe this will help. If nothing else, you know where to get the part if you need a new one. http://www.partselect.com/xq/aspx/Inventory.734590/qx/PartDetail.htm?SourceCode=1

There is a bracket held in with 4 screws under the lower spray arm, near the filter that has 4 lugs which the feed pipe for the top spray arm plug into. They are very common for breaking.

Check the upper spray arm holes for debris that may be plugging up the spray arm. If clean remove the lower spray arm and filter screen and clean out any debris in the sump.
