1. First try restarting the computer.
2. Than try going to the Eee PC website and see if they have any new webcam drivers in their support section.

You need to go to skype settings and see if you webcam is used by skype. This is what you need to do:

  1. Sign in to Skype.
  2. In the Tools menu, select Options.
  3. Under General, click Video settings.
  4. Select yopur webcam from the dropdown list.
  5. Video from your webcam should be displayed in the window.
Hope this helps!

I have Pro 9000. When used on Skype, whenever I turn on the webcam, my computer crashes, the whole screen freezes up. Please hlep. Thanks.

If it only happens with Skype, try downloading and reinstalling the lastest Skype version. Also check the AV and firewall settings to make sure Skype has the right exception authorization.

My web cam blur on skype.

Check if your webcam has a ring on the front of the lens you can turn to focus. Then go to the free webcam test site where you can see yourself, and turns the ring until you sharpen the image.

My webcam is installed and worked on Skype once. Now it turns on but does not transmit any image. what should i do?

Test your webcam here to make sure it broadcasts ok - Hit 'Allow' in the top window and check your cam in the left hand panel.

Not working ? - troubleshoot your drivers and software - get your cam working before moving on

Working OK ?

CONFIGURE TO SKYPE
Connect webcam
Its good practice to disconnect and re-connect your webcam before you start (To reboot the webcam software) - if you have been using it elsewhere the SKYPE software may have difficulty in locating it, even if you exited the previous program correctly.
The reason being, the webcam software can remain hooked-up to a program and needs to be rebooted.
Mine, I just unplug it from the USB and plug it back in to reboot the software.
If yours is integral with the computer you will have to re-start the computer, use a keyboard shortcut or disable / enable the webcam from the Device Manager.

Start Skype.
On the 'Tools' menu, click 'Options'.
In the navigation pane of the Skype 'Options' window, click 'Audio Settings'
Run down the list setting your defaults
Select your webcam as the default microphone.
Make a free test call
Click 'Save'
In the navigation pane of the Skype Options window, click Video Settings.
This will launch your webcam
Adjust quality of picture in 'Settings'
Check the correct webcam is shown as default
Click Save
Test your webcam by making a Skype test call.

Are you using a Dell ? if so
To remove it, you need > Start > Control Panel- > Add/Remove programs -> Remove Live Cam Avatar. It might appear in more than one place

check your Skype set up

Before you can use your webcam in any chat program you have to configure it to that program

Test your webcam here to make sure it broadcasts ok - Hit 'Allow' in the top window and check your cam in the left hand panel.
