CRACK LCD TV SCREEN

Where can I purchase a replacement for crack LCD BOARD. The screen was hit with WI and cracked.

    i have the same problem.. my 42" samsung cracked... what is apearing is similar to a back liquid inside the screen with vertical and horizantal color line .. it is still watchable for news or so.. no way for movise or gaming





    i am thinking of a way to fix it.. any hope?

I had one broken a few months ago. I got a couple quotes.. it was about $200 less then a brand new one. I'd just buy a new one.
For the new TV I'd pickup a screen protector for it. My son threw a toy at my TV the other day and I nearly had a heart attack from the flashbacks. Thank God I picked up one of these a few weeks earlier. It stopped it. LCD screens really break easily as you know. http://www.tv-armor.com

Its funny how the screens cost as much as the tv but tv guys are quick to jump on them for parts or repair ....
thinkign the mark up on screens is large wholesale prices are much much cheaper
repair shop was talking since mine was cracked i had to pay for lcd and core charge as the core was no longer good

My son has just thrown the remote control on ny samsung 40" LCD television... the seems to be be a crack on the inside which is visisble when the tv is turned on.Also on image is visible... though the sound still reamains intact....no external damage appears once the tv is off... can an lcd television screen be fixed...

The TV is now excellent to use as an Anger Management tool. *Note similar to smashing plates but get a nice hammer and have at it. Presto anger removed.

I got a 50'' samsung lcd tv. It's cracked and all but when plugged in you can still hear the sound, you just can't see the picture. Anyone here know where I could find a replacement screen or would I be better off getting a new one?

    Get a new tv. You can maybe get $50-75 from a repair guy for your broken one.

    I afraid most expensive component of the TV is the LCD screen and therefore suggest to purchase a new one

LG 42" tv LCD pannels inside tv have a cracked
The set needs a new LCD if it looks cracked and swirly, the colors all run together in the area of the crack don't they! If it is cracked it can't be fixed. you can replace the lcd but I am not sure if a warranty will cover a cracked screen or not. You will need to contact LG and be very nice to them and see if they will honer the warranty on this.

Acermini purchased 5 days back, developed cracks on screen all of a sudden.please show reason AND what to do to get it replaced
LCD screens just don't develop cracks how ever hitting, punching, dropping, drop kicking and or taking a hammer to the screen normally results in this.

KDL46W4100 no picture small white crack is visible when turned on. Crack got longer and eventually went across entire screen. People have told me the lcd is broken and it's not worth fixing - ie the part...
Yes, thats correct.
If lcd tv screen got hit by some thing then lcd panel got cracked and does show distorted lines or cracks instead of picture and lcd panel have to be replaced that would cost you 70% to 80% of new tv price.
New TV is better option.

Remote hit the TV and crakced LCD TV SCreen
There is no way you can fix a broken screen of a LCD set,the only way to fix it is by replacing the complete panel wich will cost more then a new set.

Cracked lcd screen
You see cracks in glass that is not generic glass. It is LCD Panel made of new technology.  That glass has few layers and a large amount of liquid crystal dots array built in. There are few polarizer in between LCD Panel. Below is an image having bit details about LCD Panel.

Cracked screen
Unfortunately, the only way to "fix" this is to replace the flat panel itself. This is not a cheap repair. I don't have a source for parts for your model. I would check with the place of purchase or look in the owner's manual for a service center and inquire about the replacement parts cost. Be prepared for a large number.

I don't have a listing for your model, but it is not unusual for the panel to cost more than a replacement set. As another example, the replacement tube (CRT) for a 27" Sony set can easily be $700. This was when these sets were being sold for $350!! Parts is where these companies rake in big profits. Don't blame the servicer for this one.

A couple of weeks ago we had the screen broken in our LG LCD TV when one for the kids threw something at the screen. We got a quote to fix it and it was going to cost more to replace the screen than what it would be to buy a brand new TV. We shopped around for a new TV, comparing LCDs and Plasmas. In the end we purchased a new LG Plasma, which had a thin layer of glass over the screen for protection compared to the LCD. We thought this would be much safer with a 4 and 6 year old around the house running amuck. And there seems to be no differfence between the LCD and the Plasma. Hope this help someone's problem.

The LCD panel will have to be replaced. Contact a Philips service agent for cost.

The cost of a replacement screen will probably outweigh the cost of a replacement TV.

If you have household insurance, it should cover accidental damage.
