The standby light is not blinking. Sound is good and I can still blindly scroll through the input selection. The picture faded to black, it took about 4 minutes fade completely. I took the back of the tv off and none of the three bulbs come on at all, although I still get sound. Any ideas?

Maybe this will help. My set is approximately 8 years old and has run without any problems during that time. Then one day I noticed that the picture was extremely dark. You could just barely make out the image. Also the picture was very slow to come up on the screen. It turns out the problem was an open RP41 resistor in the power supply heater circuit. This resistor is a 1.5 ohm 2 watt resistor. A little hard to find, but if you find it it will cost about 50 cents. Resistor was replaced and picture now comes up in 10 to 15 seconds as normal and brighness is back to normal. The resistor can be purchased from NTE Electronics at www.nteinc.com. Their part number is 2W1D5.

Is the standby light blinking? If so how many times? It could help narrow down where the problem is. At this point it could be anywhere. Most likely in the high voltage section. Get me more info and I will try to help.

sounds like the sceen is dead, if you are receiving nothing on screen, then it sounds like either a component and/or screen is gone... however, check the tv input to make sure it wasnt acidentally switched to an input channel with nothing selected... if that does not work, call local tv repair or mfg customer service tech. if under warranty, have repaired or replaced. without physically seeing tv, it is hard to diagnose issue outside of information given. could be simple board replacement or could be screen.. but check input first, if a dvd player plays, then it could be just component or input on wrong selection

Try using one of the other video input options, like AV inputs. If still have black and white picture, then the color processor is having issues. If now in color, then your tuner has issues detecting the chroma / luminance signal.

If you are using an external digital box, this may be the source of the problem as well. If you still have a VCR, connect the coax from VCR to the coax input on the TV, and play a tape. Tune the tv to channel 3 or 4. If in color, then your set top digital box is faulty.

We have a Sharp Aquos TV with an annoying black box in the upper left hand corner of the screen. How do we get rid of it?

You may have PIP or picture in picture turned on and set to a input that has nothing connected to it. That's why the box is black. There should be a button on the remote for PIP. Try to turn it off. Or turnit off in the menu.

same happend to my lns 4692....control board is gone and since it's attached to the screen...everithing is gone,my tv is under warranty,but Samsung did nothing in 3 (three!!) months,though they promised service,repair,replacement..u name it..!!I just finished a complaint letter to attorney's general office,NJ,consumer protection divisin,BBB,and others...let's see what happens...I WILL NEVER BUY SAMSUNG AGAIN, AND THOSE OF YOU WHO WILL, THINK ABOUT WHAT HAPPENED TO ME...SO THINK TWICE..OR THRICE...HA ,HA...SAMSUNG, IN ENGLISH IS...SOME SUCK!!!
