Question about Samsung Refrigerators
I have a Samsung SR-S2028DVW american style FF and am experiencing the following problem:
The display reads -20 for the freezer and 2 for the fridge, however inside both compartments feel warm. I reset it by power off/on and the display then read the correct temperatures and the compressor started up. This worked fine until it reached temperature and x amount of time later, I checked and it was warm inside again.
I would suspect the thermostat or the defrost timer is malfunctioning.

I don't think your freezer is defrosting per say it is shutting down and everything is starting to thaw out which is why the ise that naturally builds up in your freezer door is melting and leaking. If you unplug your fridge and wait 60 seconds and plug it back in it will give you any error codes that are in the unit. You should have 4 8's on your freezer door 2 for the fridge section and 2 for the freezer. Depending on what dash of what 8 is lit up is the error for a variety of parts.
If you don't have any errors that show up check to see that your door switch is functioning correctly. Shut the freezer door and peel the gasket back so you can see if the light shuts off with the door closed.

Defrost the unit for two days with the doors open...I know you're going to lose your contents. You may have ice on the coils internally. Next make sure you've cleaned the external coils under the unit. Leaving liquids open inside the unit or setting it colder than required will both cause issues like the ones you've got. Also, be sure all air vents inside the unit are unblocked and the door closes tightly all around.

Your door switch is bad. When doors are opened, the fan stops. No cooling. When it closes, fan starts. Bulb is just an indicator of no power to unit...probably burned out contact in switch.
