Well for XP and Up, you do NOT need any driver as such, when you insert into the USB port, Windows will/should detect the device & install the "Generic Windows Drivers" When this is done, and you have rebooted, The Player will no simply Show Up in My Computer as a "Drive" as such you can simply Copy, Cut & Paste as usual. and use as such. The Software that cane with your unit, is to Convert files to the right Format, for use with your unit. It also often gives more control over your unit too.

How do I delete old files from my Sansa 8gb? I deleted everything from Windows Madia Player, yet, the device indicates it is more than half full, still. I can't reload the songs I had on it before, but...

When you hace the usb cable connected go to "My Computer or Computer" and you will see it listed as a drive. Click on it and open the folder that has the songs and delete the ones you don't want. DO NOT Format(erase) the entire drive or you will erase the operating system of the Sansa.

My new philips is fully charge and I would like to know how do I get my songs out of the madia player into the philips to listen to?

MP3 players can only play music files in mp3 file format. You need to convert your CDs to mp3 music files onto your computer ordownload them from the Internet and then copy them to your MP3 player.
You can do this using Windows Media player and Rip the CDs - Media Player willcreate a MP3 music file for each music track.

Mybook 500gb not read by WD TVHD Media Player

For media players Lacie is the best to go with as my book is only good for storage not streaming playback to a media player.

1. check out lacie drives

Rest assured its not a problem with you media player its just a issue on how things are streamed over the usb system and Lacie makes a good improvment as far as that goes trust me i have done the same thing I have a my book terabyte drive.

Thanks

Check out another program besides windows media player to see if you can get sound, if so then get the latest version of windows media player and make sure you get the latest codecs.

I have a 7" Audiovox portable dvd player that keep saying loading then after it say no madia....

It may be that the disc you are trying to play is so dirty that it cannot be read. The other problem may be that the laser head is dirty especially with a portable device. Either way the machine cannot read the disc and gives up trying after some time. Careful cleaning shoudl resolve your issue.

I cant get music

Music - the newer Philips players do not support DRM-protected files. You will have to use songs that are in Mp3 format, or songs that are non-protected WMA's (NOTE: non-protected WMA's generally are only converted from CD's you own. I don't know of any music services that use them).

Video - the installation CD should have come with a program called the Philips (Arcsoft) Media Converter. If you have lost your installation CD, you can acquire this program from the Philips website. The program must be used to convert and transfer videos to your Philips.
