You probably have water in the bottom of the blower housing, and need to remove it and empty it. Be "VERY" careful, because water and electricity do not mix. if you cannot do it, you should call a furnace company to check it and give you an estimate. Also. make sure the power is off before even touching the unit.Your situation "IS" very dangerous.

Sounds like start winding switch. I would replace whole motor assembly. Try on ebay for a used one that looks newer. Used motors will save you some serious money.

The freezer stopped and compressor is making clicking noises

The compressor motor has seized up and what you can hear is either the thermal overload switching off the motor when it realises that there is too much heat being generated by the stalled motor or the start relay trying to hit the start windings with a new voltage and failing to do so.

You can obtain a new compressor motor which will also mean a re-gas of the system

HI, it sounds like the motor might be bad. TRY open the door, while someone is holding the door switch and pushing the start button, Try and turn the drum with your hands. If it starts, the motor winding is going bad.
Please let me know if this helps you at all or if I can assist you further.

Dryr starts to crank up than just stops and wont turn on any more

Hi there, this is motor failure. the actual motor windings are in bad condition at this moment. they are separating and this can ultimately start an electrical fire. the automatic shut off prevents the fire form occurring. you will have to remove the motor and tanke it to an electrialc motor shop for a re thread.

sounds like it may be overheating.. Might try to take apart and see how much lint you got built up on the motor... may be causing overheating Is this the ONLY time it makes the humming noise when you go to start it??? May also be the early warning of bad start winding or start relay on the motor

My Matag dryer does not run, but for a while it hummed before starting.

Motors of this sort have a "start" winding, to give them an extra boost to get them turning. Once they're turning, the start winding shuts off. Critical to this is the start capacitor which, when shorted, causes the exact symptom you've described. The motor's "regular" winding gets power (and then hums), but it needs that extra boost to actually start turning. Have someone check the capacitor (with an ohmeter) or check to see if the motor's start winding is open (broken).
