The outside unit is on the roof. If possible, get a ladder and get on top and you should see unit. To clean unit, remove screws on the sides, remove top cover. If coils are dirty, spray with a garden hose to clean.

Wat is H3 error in bluestar split Ac?

Hello Yogesh...

Unless you are familiar with the BASICS of REFRIGERATION...
"H3" ERROR CODE means it is "Out of ORDER"...

Broken: Needs repair.

By searching the internet "split A/C " It defines a
COMPRESSOR overload protection is trying to
SAVE your equipment FROM SELF DESTRUCTION.

See second detail sheet (below)

"COMPRESSER"
Is the heart of MOST modern refrigeration systems.
In a SPLIT system it is the outside unit with the FAN
that should be running when the COMPRESSER is
in action. Typically then compressed & COOLED
REFRIGERANT is then piped into a cooling element
EXACTLY LIKE MOST REFRIGERATORS where the
cooling takes place (expansion valve and evaporator).

Treated AIR (indoor) is then blown through the
evaporator... cooling the room and warming the
refrigerant (which continues to cycle back to the
outside unit where the compressing cycle
continues until the INSIDE temperature is
achieved... (thermostat on the wall)

"COMBINED"
pretty much means EVERYTHING but those combined refrigeration units seen WORLD-WIDE HANGING OUT OF WINDOWS... or on roof-tops with DUCTING for
"treated AIR" to be pumped where needed.

Similarly heat pumps simply have reversible valves...
which turn the coils around (functionally).

There too are split-system (inside/outside) & combined units.

Friedrich ductless heat pump will not start up.

Did you check to see if the compressor is running? Check out start relay/capacitor.

I have two Amcor AmcorAire UCHW-H12AF2 Split System Air Conditioner units -- 2 years old. One works fine, but the other does not blow heated air (Heat Mode). It is cold outside, but the good unit is...

your unit may be have possible leak on piping then refrigerant exit or had leakage of refigerant try to locate leak then braze it then recharge a correct amoun of refrigeran. if you use heater try to check heating element if ok by supplying voltage or used ommeter to test continuity.

Hey Guys, my indoor unit turns itself off and on periodically, leading me to terminate it at night from the breaker... Any ideas?

Is this a split system (unit inside and unit outside) ? If it is there is a possibility of a condensate overflow float type switch that gets filled with condensate and shuts the unit off for a bit and then back on after water drains a little.. Let me know if this sounds right and you can look at your inside unit and locate the ports leaving the unit that go to drain,.. Is there a device installed with wires connected to it ?

We purchased a digital thermostat to replace our old existing one. It seemed very easy to install and according to the manual and with further online instruction we had all the wires in the correct place....

are you talking about a 'split system' here - as in a house - where you have an inside unit and an outside unit?

If so - when you say you had the 'breaker' off - are you talking about the breaker to the 'outside' unit or the breaker to the 'inside' unit?

Note: on split systems you have a breaker that controls the outside unit and you have a breaker that controls the inside unit.

Typically - the outside unit has a breaker box/fuse box outside with the unit although you will also have a breaker in the main breaker box too, which is usually located in the garage or house somewhere.

The inside unit (usually located in the garage or house somewhere) will not have a breaker box/fuse box, (will merely be plugged in to the wall) but will have a breaker - also - in the main breaker box.

The importance of these questions is because it's possible you 'shorted' your transformer (located in the inside unit) when you changed the thermostat. Although if you had the inside breaker off while you were changing it (thermostat) - I don't see how you could of did this.

In any event - do you remember seeing a spark when you were changing out the thermostat?

If so, then I'm betting you shorted out the transformer.

If that's the case - I would recommend calling a Service Tech - because changing a transformer and 'clearing the short' is sometimes a complicated process - and unless you are fairly adept mechanically and electrically - I would advise getting a professional to do this.

In any event - he/she should be able to solve your problem for only a nominal service call.

good luck!

No heat when outside temp low When outside temp is 38 or above get heat. Is there a heater in the compressor that can fail?

I would start with your outdoor thermostat located in
the unit outside. I`m assuming this is a heat pump.
When the outdoor temthermostat is set to say 40F
anything lower than that and you are not using the
compressor, you are using electric heat thats located
in the air handler unit in the house.

I`m also assuming this is a split system and not a
packaged unit. If you are mechanically inclined and
you can locate the outdoor thermostat lower it below
the outdoor air temp and see if the unit comes on.

Sounds like you might have a problem with your electric heat or emergency heat

Can you vent the Rinnai 551F vertically through ceiling?

This unit can be vented through the roof but requires a specialized flue system-do not use an existing flue connection. Call a contractor - have them check and see if the unit can be modified to a vertical flue- it will require the existing piping to be replaced--Not a job for a do-it yourselfer
