it sounds like it could be either the T con board or an issue with the Tab Bond on the screen itself.

there's a problem in screen driver of your LCD, if you lost your receipt,that's bad luck.
if you know how to disassemble the back case of the TV , you can try some RESETTING of connectors from LCD screen driver to display driver board

its only 50% chance to remove the line.

I have purchased Sony Bravia LCD BX 42, which has a very thin horizontal line across the screen, how to fix the problem

my sony bravia BX42 has a color green horizontal line and it makes bigger and bigger until some color pink was appeared then I am worried if it will not turn to normal as it goes :(

We had a lightning strike near our home a couple weeks ago.only thing affected was sony 46 in bravia lcd tv.it still works but with a line across the screen and a fuzzy picture most timmes below that...

The only fix is to replace the panel and that would not be cost effective. It would be cheaper to buy a new TV.

This sounds like a defective T-Con board. I recommend having it looked at by a professional.

Yeah we have the same exact problem here. Defective TV....ours would correct itself after 30 mins, but now it's blurry all the time. I'm never dropping 2K on a SONY tv again.

Are the lines all the way across the screen? or just a few? Solid black - or trannslucent?

Horizontal drive has either data, voltage, or control problem from the pixel registry circuit......get it serviced before the problem spreads causing further damage.

However, in all likelyhood, the panel itself is bad. The Bravia line has had a bad rap about the faulty displays, and at $1800 replacement (plus labor) - it may be time to call SONY direct to complain!

I'm having the same problem. I have noticed on mine that the menu when brought up is clear and I can see it perfectly. The picture on all the inputs is just as described above though. BUT, like I said I can see the menu just fine. This leads me to believe that it's not the panel. Anyone have a solution to this, or at least know what could be causing it?

Well a line on an LCD means a new panel in this case. If you are out of warranty you can contact Sony about them helping you out in this. I have known them to replace or pay for part of the repair when people are out of warranty. Unfortunately the panel is very pricey to replace ($1,833.58) so if they won't help you either live with the line or buy a new TV
