I have a Panisonic PT-52LCX15 I replaced the lamp and now I'm trying to reset the LCD meter, I have tried holding the vol button and the split button and the red lamp light still is on, maybe you could let...

The lamp light should NOT be RED.
The lamp light should be yellow for the lamp timer warning.

There are two ways of retting the lamp timer=
1) on the TV use the vol - button. push until vol goes to zero, then keep holding it down
on the REMOTE push the "split" button

the yellow light should go out indicating that the lamp timer has been reset
if this fails to work,
on the REMOTE, use the "PLAY" button, instead of "split".
you may have to try this a few times to get it to "take". you'll know when the YELLOW lamp light goes out.

However, a RED LAMP light means you lamp is not working or missing.
reseat your new lamp into the TV...and be certain the LAMP DOOR is securely CLOSED.

How do i reset the new lamp hours after installed the new one?

The reset instructions often are in the box with the replacement lamp; use those directions if you have them.

Try holding the Volume Down button on the TV while pushing the Play PIP button on the remote for about 5 seconds. If that doesn't work, try the Split button instead of the Play PIP button on the remote. You should see a message that the Lamp hours have been reset before you release the two keys.

I hope this helps.

Can the service menu for the LG 52sz8d dlp tv be accessed from the orig remote not the service remote just installed new lamp and tv was working fine for 1 week now the lamp indicator light comes on and...

Hi there,

One possible solution to access the service menu on LG tv's is as follows with steps 1 - 4:

1. With the TV on, press and hold the MENU button on the TV front panel.
2. While holding that button, press and hold the MENU button on your remote.
3. Hold both buttons for ~5 seconds until the service menu comes up on the TV.
4. Release the remote MENU button first, then the TV MENU button.
If you are looking to reset the lamp indicator then continue with the following steps 5 - 11:

5. Press and hold the ENTER (or OK) button on the TV front panel.
6. While holding that button, press and hold the MUTE button on the remote.
7. Hold both buttons until the Lamp Life Hours show up on your TV screen.
8. Release the MUTE button first, then the ENTER button on the TV front panel.
9. Make a note of the lamp hours if you want.
10. To reset the lamp hours, press the SELECT button (the one between the four arrow keys with two concentric circles on it) on your remote.
11. It will ask you to confirm the reset--press SELECT again to confirm.

To verify you've reset the hours, you can repeat steps 1-9 above and then just press the EXIT button on your remote.

Hope this helps. Regards, James.

You mean physically replace the lamp or reset the lamp timer?

To replace the lamp, you unplug the TV, take the front cover off of the TV under the screen, open the little door, unscrew a screw, then pull a handle that will pull out the entire lamp assembly.

Shove the new lamp assembly in place, reattach the screw, shut the door, snap the panel back on, and fire it up.

To reset the lamp timer you have to have your TV remote (not a universal - the original remote). Turn the TV on and wait for the lamp timer reset message to disappear or push Exit on the remote (or any button similar to exit, depending on the model).

Then, simultaneously press and hold the VOL- button on the TV and the PIP button on the remote at the same time (usually near the bottom left of the remote). On some models it is the SPLIT button instead.

IRT the other answer, there are more than one type of rear projection television. The one's you have seen with three lamps are CRT-based and have one CRT for each primary color of red, green, and blue. Panasonic no longer makes these and any issues with the lamps must be referred to an authorized servicer. Therefore, I conclude in this case that the question is in reference to a DLP or LCD rear projection display.

If it is a lamp error try this:
When the lamp exceeds 2100 hoursof service, the projector cannot turn on and the manu is not displayed. Do the following:
For VT670/VT470 Press the help button on the remote control for a minimum of ten seconds.

For VT570/VT47 Press and hold the power and the exit buttons on the remote control simultaneously for a minimum of ten seconds. When the lamp time clock is reset to zero, the lamp indicator goes out. Hope this helps! :]
