MY HOTPOINT FFA52 FRIDGE FREEZER HAS MADE A LOUD BUZZING NOISE A COUPLE OF TIMES BUT IT APPEARS TO BE WORKING OK. AT FIRST I THOUGHT THE BUZZING WAS COMING FROM THE TOP NEAR THE THERMOSTAT UNIT BUT I,M NOT QUITE SURE.

If you can pull the unit out from the wall, find the motor compartment. There, you'll find a black can with the motor and compressor inside it. This usually creates vibration when running. Check the compressor's mounts, to see if they need tightening or have rubber grommets that have rotted away. The sound could also be coming from a fan somewhere in the machine. There might be a fan in the motor compartment. Find the vents inside the unit that blow cold air. Check the guards to see if a foreign object could have made its way into the vents and jammed a fan. Make sure you unplug the fridge before you stick any hands or tools someplace they wouldn't normally go. You may want to let the unit run while peeking in with a flashlight to locate the source of the vibration, but beware of moving parts and a shock hazard.

This model, being frost free, has a fan for the freezer compartment. On my fridge the fan has stopped altogether. My guess is that the fan is catching either on ice that has formed around it or on the wiring in that area. Have read of this happening to others with this model.

If you hear a click every few minutes and a buzz / click then nothing, it would sound as if your compressor is gone, the water problem is the defrost drain pipe is blocked

HELP! Frigidaire Fridge FRS26HF7BB0 losing coldness and buzzing

That noise is typical when the compresor is trying to start but it doesn't , it could be the condensing fan motor that doesn't work and the compresor goes off on overload ; a common problem with this compresors is the relay (mounted at the side of the compresor behind a black plastic cover) goes bad , this you can replace is about $20 , and if still the compresor won't start you will need to put another one and this is an expensive job.

Fridge Freezer very noisy!

cycling every 30 mins is normal. bear in mind that frost free are more noisy as there are fans running as well.
