Better check the incoming gas pressure first, it should match the requirement as stated on the nameplate. Low gas pressure will make the pilot flame small until it could not heat up the thermopile which will shut both main burner and pilot flame.

How do you troubleshoot a high limit switch for a Pitco VF35-S Frialator

To test, jump the two leads on the high limit. However, this sounds most like a faulty gas valve. Most high limits are designed to cut off both the pilot and the main buner.

Fryer cut off but pilot stays on

You could have a weak pilot or thermopile. If the thermopile is not heated correctly by the pilot, it cannot generate enough millivolts to open the gas valve. The same is true if the thermopile is faulty. Thermopiles consist of several junctions of which only some may go bad causing low millivolt output. Millivolt output with the thermostat off and pilot lit should be around 600 millivolt, you can check with a DC multimeter set on MV across the two wires coming from the thermopile. Remember, the thermopile has to be heated by the pilot thoroughly before you will get the full millivolt reading and the thermostat must be off. Cleaning the pilot assembly is often helpful, thermopiles are inexpensive and relatively easy to change. Of course, other problems can cause this issue as well, but the above are most common.

New blue flame heater, everything is hooked up, gas is going to unit, I have a natural gas hookup, in the correct port, knob is turned and locked into the NG position but unit wont light. There is gas...

do you have the pilot light burning if not then you have to get in burning first
Put knob in pilot position push down and hold for at least 30 seconds or longer then if there is an igniter push and release it push and release till pilot light comes on .Continue to hold pilot light button down for another 10 seconds or so, release pilot button and turn button to on or up a number or set T stat
Main flame should come on and burn

Pilot light keeps going out

pilot light keeps going out! more then likely its the thermal coupling doing this. if bad it shut all gas to heater for a safety measure. just shut power off, then turn gas off and replace it. then you should be ready to go. to relight heater hold down on gas vavle knob in the pilot position, hold down and light it at the coupling where gas comes out. when it is lit, continue to hold down for 60 seconds. release knob very slow. then if its lit, turn to the run position. if flme goes out, wait at least 5 minutes to expel the gas fumes and turn to pilot and try again. good-day !

Pilot not lighting.. If I take off the coupling theres GAS... gas does not seem to go to the Buner tube.. Which would be the pilot..

If you're not getting gas to the pilot, it may be that the pilot tube or the pilot is clogged. Or when you turn the Control Knob to the Pilot position and push it in, it's really not in the pilot position. In which case, if the knob doesn't bottom out and you don't feel strong pressure pushing back at you (more than just spring pressure), it's not really in the pilot position. Turn the knob a hair one and then the other until you find it. Then try lighting the pilot as you should, If it lights, hold the Control Knob in for at least one minute, ease off and if the pilot stays lit, turn it to the ON position.

If all of the above fails, you may need to replace the Control Valve. It's fairly rare that they go bad, but it can happen.

Hope this helped to solve your problem.

Gas vavles is letting propane gas through the gas control vavle.

If you have propane you better not mess around! with nat gas its lighter than air and drafts or flies away if it can.
not so with propane , its heavier than air and stays down low!! and the most explosive situation is 10% gas/ 90% air !!!! so a small leak??? there is no such thing with propane!! turn off all valves to it and get it fixed by expert this is one repair a handyman should never do!!

Unit will try three times to start then shut down

Make sure the exhaust fan is running. You say it fires up and then cut off.Does the main burner come on just the pilot? If it's just the pilot then I would say you need to replace sense that senser the pilot lite.Because onces that senser the flame the main gas vavle should open.for give me for my mis spelling.

Bryant 36E93 gas package (pilot won't stay lit)

If your unit has a thermo-coupling this is most likely the issue This little sensor sends a milli-voltage to the gas valve telling it to keep sending gas for the pilot since its lit and all is good. They wear out and the gas valve thinks the flame has gone out (whick is hasnt) and kills the gas flow.

Stove top pilot light

I have a GE Gas Stove XL44 the stove top buners don't light by themselves without manual lighting. When I turn on the buner knob the buner doesn't click. Also I used my self- cleaning oven for the first time and stopped it before the time was up after that is when the stove top buners wouldn't light by theirselves.
