Question about Hunter Ceiling Fan Light Switch Control

2 Answers

Hunter Fan Pull Chain Hard to Operate.

I have a two Hunter Stratford II ceiling fans. The pull chain that controls the fan speed starts above the light, goes through the light kit, and comes out through the plate that holds the globe on. Both chains are extremely difficult to pull and they get stuck so that they don't go back. These fans were bought 2 years apart assumed they would've fixed this problem with the newer one. Any thoughts on how to fix?

I have the same fan and after living with the incredibly annoying switch for many years, the pull chain just broke off inside the switch. When I put the new switch in, I first drilled a new hole for the switch out of the bottom of the switch can being careful not to drill any wires. I lined the chain up with the back of one of the bulb holders and now it has a straight shot and pulls easily. I don't know why they didn't make it this way in the first place.

Same problem with the fan pull. I don't have any problem with the light pull as it comes straight out the bottom. However, the fan pull goes at an impossible angle within the light globe. Have you come up with a solution yet? I was going to call Hunter when open during week.

You got the wrong switch!!!! Just because it looks the same on the outside(switch) doesn't mean it's the same on the inside. Call 1-888-830-1326 with your model # and order the correct switch.
The model # will be 5 digits starting with a 2

My control won't activate the light on my Hunter fan. The light comes on via pull chain fine, and the control works the 3 speeds on the fan, but the light won't respond.

Check the wiring on your receiver to make sure the light wire is connected. You have to have the light on with the pull chain and then use the remote to turn it on/off.

How to sync the remote with the fan?The remote was operating the fan, but someone must have pulled the chain on the fan.

I have a ceiling fan that fails to operate under remote control whenever a power outage occurs. The solution is to pull the chain to guess which is an ON position, then operate the remote to select fan speed or off. Same routine for the light, if there is one.

My hunter remote control ceiling fan doesn't go real fast. the highest speed is what a normal fan would do on medium. is there a fix?

if you have pull chain switches in addition to the remote control, your pull chain switch may be set to Medium, which would make the fan run on a maximum of medium speed.

Pull chain for fan difficult to operate

All Hunter ceiling fans are "remote control" adaptable. Consider a remote control for it.
There are Nylon pull strings fitted with a ball clasps on the ends. Consider that, too.
Both at Lowe's or Home Depot...

Fan won't turn on, dont know where switch is

I looked up the owners manual for your fan at the following site: http://www.hunterfan.com/search.aspx?search=20763
Click on the pdf file labeled owner's.This manual indicates there should be a pull chain for turning on and off the fan. Maybe the chain has broken off up inside the fan. You can follow the instructions in this manual to take the fan apart and replace the pull chain.
