All of a sudden my D52w20 (which has not been used often) intermittantly while watching TV or playing X box starts making a really loud high pitched whine. If I turn it on/off several times sometimes it will stop. What's strange is when it's doing it and I turn it off and back on, the noise does not start until the picture appears, and sometimes the noise does not come back on at all, or at a different pitch or noise level. It seems to happen more often when the TV has been on for a while. Otherwise the unit works just fine. I would really like to repair this myself......Thanks for any advice.
Ok maybe this may help .... there is a coil LL08 I believe... somtimes it creates a high pitch whine like you describe.. its stands up on the deflection board..it basicaly a large coil of copper wire....you can take silcon and put on the coil...in effect damping the ocillations...hope that might help
