Question about Krell KAV400Xi Amplifier

1 Answer

Channels out of balance - remote will only change left channel.

Output to speakers is weak on left channel. Switched output cables and now right channel is weak.

Any ideas?

I don't know how to use behringer feedback destroyer DSP1124p

Determine where in the mixer's signal path to connect the unit. Your options are:
1. One or two individual microphone channels via the mixer's CHANNEL INSERT in/out jacks.
2. The monitor mix output via the mixer's MONITOR OUT jacks.
3. The main mix output via the mixer's MAIN OUT jacks.

  • 2 Connect a balanced cable with the appropriate connectors from CHANNEL INSERT OUT jacks on the desired mixer channel to INPUT RIGHT or LEFT on the Feedback Destroyer's back panel for individual microphone channels. Connect a balanced cable with the appropriate connectors from the OUTPUT RIGHT or LEFT jacks on the Feedback Destroyer's back panel to that mixer channel's CHANNEL INSERT IN jack.
  • 3 Connect a balanced cable with the appropriate connectors from the mixer's MONITOR OUT jacks to the INPUT RIGHT or LEFT jacks on the Feedback Destroyer's back panel for the monitor signal path. Connect a balanced cable with the appropriate connectors from the OUTPUT RIGHT or LEFT jacks on the Feedback Destroyer's back panel to the monitor amplifier INPUT jack or amplified monitor speaker INPUT jacks.
  • 4 Connect a balanced cable with the appropriate connectors from the mixer's MAIN OUT jacks to the INPUT RIGHT or LEFT jacks on the Feedback Destroyer's back panel for the main mix (FOH) signal path. Connect a balanced cable with the appropriate connectors from the OUTPUT RIGHT or LEFT jacks on the Feedback Destroyer's back panel to the main amplifier INPUT jack or amplified house speaker INPUT jacks.

Yamaha rx-v2500 receiver how to hook up speakers

    HI,

Follow these steps to connect a powered sub woofer to your receiver: You typically have two options when connecting a powered sub woofer. Input (1) on the rear of the sub woofer would be used when connecting the sub woofer to the receiver using speaker wires. You would then connect the main speakers to the opposite end, or output or the sub woofer to the main speakers. Option (2) would be using RCA line level output jacks, input (2) on the rear panel of the sub woofer directly to the single sub woofer output on the back of an AV receiver. blank.gif

Lights when the Front Left and Right speaker outputs have been set to different levels in the OSD, i.e. a balance adjustment has been made.

You can look at the relative levels of all channels as described on Page 14.

One side is working normally, I believe the other one may have a short of some sort in it, what would cause this?

Most probably the problem lies in the cord leading from your PC to the main speakerbox. This should be a standard DIN plugs stereo cable. Try wiggling this cable a bit and see if there are any changes, just to make sure that it is this cable. But even if there isn't any change, the probability of anything else going wrong is highly unlikely. If your PC gives normal stereo sound on headphones (eliminating the PC as a problem) then there's 99% chance that this cable feeding the audio signal is bad. You'll need to replace it with a standard DIN plugs stereo cable.
If however your PC does not give a stereo sound to headphones then double-click the speaker icon in the right lower corner of your screen, and see the output settings and output balance. The balance should be set to 50/50 so both left and right channels get the standard volume level, and that the output is set to standard stereo output.

The right output channel on the right side of my pmc 05 pro 4 has very low output. I can hear both right and left output channels in the headphones when I have the cue selected but when I try to monitor...

I assume you swapped thee output leads as well as the inputs which you di mention, to verify you amps and cables...
The Vestax schematic I have is NOT your same model, but the companies often re-use circuitry. In the schematic I have it appears that the two channels go through two levels of NJM2068L op amps.
In these two levels there is both a master gain control. It is important to know whether the gain control varies the output level of the right, even if it is low. Also in this gain control area is a master balance pot which varies the ratio of the left and right and is CAPABLE of taking either channel to near zero output... IF you have that control check it for sure !!! The pot is a dual employing both an A taper and C taper which is a reverse of the A.
The right tool for troubleshooting this is an oscilloscope, but first an inspection looking for board cracks around the output and pot area is in order.

    No Right Front Speaker Output

Swap speakers over...check the balance isn't fully to the other channel...swap left/right phono cables over (if thats how your using it) other than that i would say is broke.
Easy way to check speaker cable/speaker... touch a small battery (like used in a remote) across speaker wires, you will hear and see the speaker cone move.
