Question about Estate TGS325K Gas Kitchen Range

1 Answer

Just finishing cleaning my oven. It was on Cool when all of a sudden this code came up FSE1 and started beeping. I would cancel it but it would come right back. The door remains locked. It was probably 15 min into the cooling time. I unplugged the stove and plugged it back it but the code remains. the beeping stopped. What do I do????

Hi. This is a common issue for Kitchen Range (FSE1 or F5E1 error). It is either the door motor, door lock, control panel is having a problem (fried out) is due to excessive heat coming out from the oven. I suggest try replacing these parts. I provided you a link where users experience the same issue with their kitchen range. Please click here.

yes. if unit is still under warranty have the manufacturer's technician replaced that parts for you.

Would you beleive. Unplugged it for 14 min. plugged it back it. The door unlocked. Could start the oven and the top all works. Just lucky I guess

Good job! just monitor the problem. If issue happens again i suggest to replace the parts that needs to be replaced. We dont want the problem to give birth to more serious problems in the future.

I found this on an appliance forum. It sounds the same as your problem. They say the code is F5 E1. Apparently the door lock latch is stuck.

FSE1 CODE just popped up on the stove and the latch started going back and forth and the interior light would go on and off. We weren't even using the stove or oven when this happened. What does

The F5 E1 error message indicates the latch motor was unable to lock the door. When the self clean cycle is started, the control board will turn on the latch motor which is mounted on the rear of this range. The motor is connected to a cam that transfers the motors motion to a rod that runs under the cook-top. Here is the part to order.

I have a Whirlpool Super Capacity 465 self-cleaning oven. I tried to use the Auto Clean function tonight, but after about 15 secs., the oven displayed error code FSE1, beeped multiple times, and then...

I researched your question regarding error code FSE1. I could not find a response regarding a self cleaning oven. If you will provide the model number on the below listed website under "cooking" you may get a detailed response.

It seems that a general "fix" for error codes is to got to your electrical panel and shut off the breaker controlling your device for 1 minute. This resets the device and will reset the error code. (May not fix your issue but will reset code.)

Your manual should have a list of error codes to help you resolve this issue. If you have misplaced the manual, you can also download one for your device from Whirlpool's website as well.

If all else fails here are the U.S. and Canadian telephone numbers under "Contact us". I do not know if this is a pay line or Whirlpool will answer your questions and attempt to resolve at no cost.

F5 - E1 Self clean latch will not lock

1. If door latched:
  1. Disconnect power from unit.
  2. Check wires and connectors from control to door switch, then from door switch to control. If no damage to wires and all connectors okay, proceed to step C.
  3. Replace door switch.
  4. Re-apply power.
  5. Press and hold any key down for 1 minute to clear F5 failure code from memory. F2 will appear. Press CANCEL and observe for 1 minute to ensure operation is correct.
2. If door not latched:
  1. Disconnect power from unit.
  2. Check wires and connectors from control to latch switch, then from latch switch to control. If no damage to wires and all connectors okay, proceed to step C.
  3. Repeat steps A and B for door switch.
3. Measure door switch (door open = switch open small low voltage terminals). Replace switch if defective.
4. Measure latch switch (unlatch = switch open, CAUTION - oven light contacts are closed). Replace switch if defective.
5. If corrections are made in any step, reconnect power to control. Press and hold any key for 1 minute to clear R failure code from memory. F2 will appear. Press CANCEL and observe for 1 minute to ensure operation is correct.

Whilrpool Self Cleaning Range Door won't unlock

try this 1. Verify error code by pressing and holding CANCEL/OFF key for 5 seconds.
Momentarily (less than 5 sec.) press CANCEL key again to remove error code
display.
2. Press and hold any key for 1 minute until F2 E0 code is displayed.
3. Cancel F2 E0 error code.
4. Program and start the clean mode. Observe to see if door locks. If it does not,
inspect the locking mechanism from the solenoid to the latch pawl and door to
find the cause of the problem. If the door is not locking, then 1 minute from the
start of clean, the F5 E1 code will again be displayed. Steps 1 through 3 will
have to be repeated before another clean can be started.
5. Once any mechanical problems with the latch mechanism have been corrected,
program and start a clean cycle (after, if necessary, clearing F5 E1 error code)
to ensure proper operation of the door lock. Immediately cancel the clean mode to observe proper operation of door unlock
