Question about Farberware T490C 1500 Watts Toaster Oven with Convection Cooking

I have a farberware convention turbo-oven model 460 serial number 2336445 I can only read the first two temperatures on the dial [150- 250] I am guessing that 350- 450 is that correct ? , is that as high as it goes ? Can I gat a replacement label?

The top temperature is actually 475 (which is 550 in a regular oven). That's with the dial turned as far as it goes to the left. Don't know how you'll figure out the settings for the temperatures above 350, unless you measure the intervals below 350 and mark them off on the other side some way.

Sorry, I should have said 250, not 350. But I guess you know what I meant. I would also imagine that Farberware no longer makes any replacements for this. The label is a solid sheet that runs across the front of the oven. As you can see in the photo, mine has cracked. You might try making something on your computer and printing it on sticker paper. Or just use a heat-proof felt tip marker.

I have this manual. I have been using this oven for almost 30 years. (I love it!) However, I'm having trouble with internet connections at the moment. As soon as I can get a good connection again, I will scan the manual and upload it here for those of you who need it.

Model 460/5 can not control the heat

I would have to say that your issue is thermostat related. The thermostat only send a signal when temperature is reached, not what the current temperature is. So if it is malfuntioning, the desired temperature will never be reached. Therefore, not sending a signal to cut the heat, even though it is 350.

The only thing you have to know is that pork and chicken cook at 325. Any baked goods with leavening in it cooks at 75 degrees less than what the recipes calls for but no lower than 275.

Use an oven thermometer to test it the temperature at the various dial settings to see which is which.... Good luck!

I have the same oven plus another one. Does this model have a "ding" when the timer is finished. My other one does. I bought them both used. Love em for their size. I use them out in the garage during the summer. Keeps the heat out there
