Question about Samsung Alias 2 SCH-U750 Cell Phone

Open Question

My Verizon-Samsung Alias 2 got wet. The battery has no water damage, but the phone does. It has been in a bowl of rice for over 19 hours. I tried using a vacuum to **** some water out. When I tried turning it on, the buttons would flash blue but the screen stays black. Does anyone have any suggestions or has anyones phone done this? Did it end up working or did you need a new one?

SOURCE: Broke the hinge on my Samsung Alias 2. Need to repair it.

The spring goes under the little plate that is held in by two tiny screws. Its visible when the phone is open vertically with the plastic cap removed from the hinge. Hope this helps. I took my hinge apart after I dropped it and the top half came off... now it's just holding by the ribbon so I'm going to order a new hinge. Verizon is completely useless. They don't want to even know about you if you're phone isn't under warranty and I have 11 months till an upgrade...

I have one maxwest cellphone it's damaged by water, can it fix it?

Open the phone and remove the battery. Dab all internal surfaces with paper towel to remove as much moister as possible. Then use a hair dryer on medium heat to gently dry the phone completely. Make sure the battery is dry as well. Leave the phone open for a further half hour after drying and then put the battery back in and close the case. Switch on the phone, good luck.

My alias 2 got wet so I put it in a bag of uncooked rice. The inside screen still has moisture in it. Can I take the screen off? It has been in the rice for more than 24 hrs.

Hello, I have a Samsung GT-I5800, I caught my son with it earlier and he had drooled all over it, the inside was all soaking wet and now it wont turn on.. it just keep flashing up the GT-I5800 screen and...

Take out anything that isn't attached to the phone (memory card, sim card, battery, etc). Submerge everything in an uncovered bowl of dry rice. Leave it for at least 24 hours (36 if you can wait). The water damage indicators are located at one end of the battery and on the back of the phone underneath the cover. If they're pink they're toast. Wait for the 24 hours before trying to turn it back on, sometimes people get lucky.

Good luck!

Dropped phone in toilet 3 seperate times and it was fine until the third time. it worked fine until 5 hours alter and wont come on now?

It sounds like you've been very lucky in the past! Usually when a phone gets exposed to liquid, it immediately and irreparably damages the phone. In this scenario it seems that the water hadn't reached a critical part of the phone yet, when it did, the phone stopped working. See if your carrier offers accidental damage replacement and go from there. If they don't then try sticking your phone in a bag of rice for a day or 2. This will absorb moisture from the phone and hopefully allow it to work. Otherwise you will have to replace your phone! I hope this helps, please don't forget to rank my answer! Have a great day!

My alias 2 got wet. Only the top screen got wet. The screen worked for a while but it still had some water in it. Then it dies all together and doesn't come back on. Ideas?

The only possible fix that might work is to remove the battery and then put the phone and the separate battery into a bag of uncooked minute rice for at least three days. If you had done this immediately upon getting the phone wet it was pretty certain to may or may not work now depending on how much time has gone by. Regards, Joe

I have a samsung SCH-U520 and I dropped it in water

If your device gets covered in water, act fast and rationally, and you may be able to save your device.

2. Pull out the battery.
3. Please your device and battery into a bowl of uncooked rice to absorb any moisture.
4. Please it in a warm, dry place where it can receive direct sunlight.
5. Be patient. It is recommended that you leave it in there for at least 48 hours.
6. After 48 hours, put the battery back in and power on.

I got my phone water damaged so i dried it out and put it in some dry rice i can see the front screen and receive/ call people but the inside screen is broken and it wont stop vibrating once the battery is...

When you obtained water damage to your phone you should have immediatly taken the battery out and put both battery and the phone in a bowl of rice and sealed it.
This would allow the rice to draw out the moisture from inside the phone. This would have to be done for at least 24-48 hours to work properly.
Even if you did it exactly like that its still not 100% certain to work. Upon turning the phone back on (or could have happened when it first got wet) the phone shorted out. The results vary from situation to situation but your phone is damaged and there is nothing that can be done.

Your only real option is to replace the phone as repairing phones these days is not cost effective. Post back with any questions or comments for further assistance.

Thank you for choosing Fixya!

My web slider got wet how do i fix it

Most common thing to do with this is to take the battery out and keep your phone completely without the battery and back connected. Then, put it in a bowl of rice for 24 hours. If you do that and you continue to have problems, you need to get a new phone. Water damage is the worst thing that can happen to a phone its like the chocolate for dogs- you can't allow it to happen. Try the rice trick, DO NOT blow it with a blowdryer as that can fry the hardware. Hope i've helped you.

Water Damage

try this :
This works on most mini electronic devices like cellular phones and degital cameras etc .

it sounds crazy .

Remove the back (or Cover ) of the phone( or Camera ), battery, and SIM if your phone ( or Device ) uses one , DIRECTLY

Then, with a q-tip (or something similar), dab the connection points (shiny, goldish) on the battery, SIM, and phone. This should aid in drying.

Finally, place all contents in a bag of uncooked rice (separately, do not put back together just yet). it sounds crazy , but it draws the moisture out.

It normally is working after just 7-8 hours, but I would wait 12 hours or even 24 hours before attempting to use (just to be sure).

beware the water damage, despite being dry now, will void any warranties. Also, the phone's hardware is now weakened and if you drop it, the green mother board and circuitry could shatter - so be more careful.

This does work on electronic devices aside from phones as well. Simply tailor it to your device. If you do not have a SIM (Verizon phones, cameras, all others), remove only the battery. If you have an iPhone/iPod or GPS and cannot remove the battery, simply make sure it is all the way off, then put it in the rice bag. All electronic devices react the same to the rice trick.
