Do you have Win7 32-bit or 64-bit? If you have the 32-bit, the driver you need is here: http://www.usa.canon.com/cusa/support/consumer/scanners/canoscan_series/canoscan_lide_80#DriversAndSoftware . This driver works for Win2K-Win7. This is an unsigned driver and probably will not work in Win7 64-bit.

In my experience, Canon is very poor at supporting their scanners for 64-bit OS versions. In fact, they do not have a Vista 64-bit compatible version of the drivers for this scanner.

The only solutions I have found are tedious. 1) Keep your old computer that works with the scanner and transfer files on a USB drive or optical disc (RW is better for this). 2) Set up a virtual computer with an OS that works with the scanner. If you have Win7 Pro or Ultimate, you can do this for free. Download Microsoft's Virtual PC and the XP mode package. Install both in order. For other versions of Win7, you will need a virtualization program (Parallels, Virtual PC, VMWare) and a licensed version of XP (or other OS that will work with the scanner). Set up the virtual computer program and install the OS.

Next install your scanner to the virtual computer and use it in that "machine". You may need to transfer files to external or optical media to share the documents. You can't install a printer on both the virtual computer and the real computer at the same time (at least with XP mode).

I hope this helps.

(I tried using the compatibility mode and accepting the unsigned driver for a Win7 Home Premium 64-bit machine for a different Canon scanner. It didn't work and I have dealt with a number of old hardware and new OS issues over time.)

Hi. i have a canoscan FB 630P. Can i use this in windows 7 ? If yes then how and where will i find the driver software..?

Hello mshouvo,
it seems that the "Canoscan is only compatible with,
{up to Windows XP}.
The Drivers that you need can be found at the "Website"
I placed a link to, below!
If you have Windows 7 as your "Operating System;"
than you can use the Canoscan with the "Drivers in [Compatibility Mode].

Once you "download the 'Drivers.'
Disconnect the Canoscan; {Safely!}.
Install the Drivers.
Restart the computer.
Connect the Canoscan; the computer should "automatically"
'detect' the Canoscan, and "update the Drivers.

Next, {right click} on the Canoscan, to open the "Properties" window.
There will be "buttons," one them should be a [Compatibilty Mode] button!
"Use the program in "Windows XP" mode, and click on the 'Apply and OK buttons."

"Best Regards"

Trying to set up canoscan lide60 scanner on my new computer - upgraded computers from Windows XP to Windows 7 X64

The driver you are looking for can be located at http://software.canon-europe.com/products/0010220.asp

At this page, select Windows 7 as the operating system, and English as the language.

The second result should be the Windows 7 64-bit file that you need.

A last months a go I have change my OS from windows XP to Windows 7. My CanoScan 3000ex can not functioned in new OS. I have tried download driver and software from Canon USA, but it's failed. I am only...

Please note the manufacturer of the device (Canon CanoScan 3000F) has not released the compatible drivers for Windows 7, hence I would suggest you to install the available driver in compatibility mode and check if it gets installed on your computer. To do that you need to follow the steps provided below. Locate the installer.exe or setup.exe file in your and right-click on the file. From the contextual menu, choose Properties > Compatibility. Choose the version of Windows you want to emulate and select the "Run this program in compatibility mode" checkbox. Run the installer! See if it will load up. I hope this assisted you. John

Hello, My sister gave me a canoscan d646uex flatbed scanner but apparently she lost the driver installer. My problem is I couldn't use the scanner because it has no driver. Can you help me where to...

You can still download the driver from the Canon Official website, but since you didn't mention the Operating System where you gonna install this printer, I can't make this specific and am unable to give you the direct link.

Open this link (Click Here), select Operating System (O.S), then select Language and click "Submit" all the available downloadable drivers/softwares for that particular operating system will be displayed on the next page. Click the respective links to download.

If you need further help, let me know.

Good luck.

Thanks for using FixYa.

I need a driver for lide80 canoscan scanner

What OS do you have? The drivers (supported OS versions) for the LiDe 80 are available here: http://www.cusa.canon.com/cusa/support/consumer/scanners/canoscan_series/canoscan_lide_80#DriversAndSoftware . If you have Win7 64-bit, the Vista x64 driver doesn't work even in the compatibility mode.

If you want a work-around for the 64-bit OS, Win7 Pro and Ultimate allow you to download and install XP mode free. This takes two programs, Virtual PC and the XP mode, that you download from Microsoft and install. This will run a virtual computer under Win7 and you can install the scanner to the virtual computer. To share files with the real computer, you should store them on external media.

Alternatively for Win7x64, you can install any of the other Virtual computer programs (Parallels, VMWare, etc) with a licensed older version of Windows. Then do the same as above. Another option is a dual boot computer with the older licensed version of Windows with the scanner installed to the "machine" with the older OS. I don't see a Unix driver for this scanner so you need a valid copy of Windows.

I hope this helps.

Cindy Wells
(If you have Win7 x64, the only other options are 1) to try and get Canon to extend their drivers (since they do support Win7 32-bit) or 2) get a new scanner.)

No driver for Canoscan FB 630U Vista 64 bit

Unfortunately, it doesn't look like Canon supports this scanner under Vista. Check if the Windows generic TWAIN scanner driver will work. The Canon software won't work. If the generic driver can be installed, then you should be able to acquire scans in Paint (File > Import from Scanner or Camera), Windows Fax and Scan (New Scan) (some versions of Vista) or Windows Photo Gallery (IIRC it works like Paint).

I hope this helps.

Cindy Wells
(Canon wants you to upgrade. I have a different scanner that isn't officially supported past XP and the generic driver works fine. Unfortunately, you can't just use the XP driver in the compatibility mode due to the lack of signed drivers that are required in the 64-bit OS)

Canoscan Lide 30 compatibility with Windows 7.

There are no official drivers for CanoScan Lide 30 for Windows XP, so your problem is obvious. I suggest you sending an e-mail at Canon including details about your scanner (date purchased, serial number in text form or scanned) asking them to develop driver set as this model is very trade and at shops since 2006 or 2007.

In case of a problem or clarification, don't hesitate to post.

CanoScan N1220U Scanner Windows 7 64-bit Driver

You may use Hamrick VueScan Pro, it installs a driver that makes 1220 to work. Or, if the version of Windows 7 you use support XP Mode, install it.

It's still a good scanner, and mine is working in 7 x64 using XP Mode!
