Power surge now our Frigidaire gas range oven does not work

Good Afternoon Wendes, thank you for your inquiry. I understand that your gas range is inoperable. Let's try reprogramming the unit by either flipping the household circuit breaker off or unplugging it. While the unit is turn off; confirm that the shut-off valve on the gas pressure regulator is in the "ON" position (usually located on the back left-hand side of the range). This valve shuts off gas to the oven. Then you may turn the appliance on. If the steps do not correct the issue, your range could be experiencing a communication error with the EOC (electronic oven control), a potential wiring failure, element or faulty power supply. I would personally contact a professional to accurately diagnose the appliance to determine the root cause to reduce the risk of unnecessary parts. If you do not know a professional technician, manufacturer websites often have service provider locators' onsite to assist you in that regard. If you have any additional questions, please feel free to reconnect!

Gas range says dr how to fix it

Hello robin_deathe - Will the door look? Is the door lock indicator light glowing? Try resetting the unit by either unplugging it or flipping the household circuit breaker off. Wait approximately one minute and turn the range back on. This will clear most false error codes. If error code still displays on panel, I would suggest contacting a professional to move forward accurately. The unit could possibly have a faulty light switch, door latch or EOC.

My gas oven isn't heating up properly, is there

We were able to trouble-shoot our gas oven before calling the repair man. Our oven reached temperature but did not reheat when it cooled down. Our troubleshooting included taking out the storage drawer and looking at the underside of the oven near the valve.

First check if you can see the flame when the oven is on.

Use an oven thermometer in the oven to test if the oven gets to the desired temperature first. Does it get close to the desired temperature and stay near there for your entire bake time? If it does, you may need to adjust the thermostat setting. (This should be in your manual. Many Frigidaire manuals are available from their support site: http://www.frigidaire.com/Customer-Support/Videos--Manuals/ . )

Since our oven was reaching the set temperature and then not reheating, we had one person crawl under the oven and tap on the regulator when the oven needed to reheat. (We could see the ignitor spark.)

If the oven isn't heating at all, then the thermostat, the gas valve, controller or ignitor are suspects. Can you see the spark of the ignitor? Then it's probably not the issue. Similarly if you see the flame coming on several times during the bake cycle, it's not likely to be the valve. If you have a multimeter, you may be able to check the thermostat and controller for any breaks in the wire.

In our case, since the valve was failing, we ended up replacing the 10-year old range. (We looked at the price of a new range versus part and labor cost for the replacement. The part and labor was more than 50% of a new range.)

I hope this helps.

The oven blew a circuit and now keeps flashing F1. What can I do to fix it?

That means the control board on the range needs replaced. Simply find the model number on your oven and click on this link for Frigidaire Appliance Parts and I could give you a price and help over the phone to fix it.

I need to change my oven ignitor and I need a diagram to show where it is located. I have a Frigidaire model FGF353BADB. Free standing gas stove/oven.

Here's a diagram of the oven along with the Oven Ignitor (Part #19 on the diagram) and the Broiler Ignitor, (Part #26 on the diagram). They are located behind the gas deflectors located at the top and bottom inside the oven compartment, accessible from inside the oven, but you'll need to remove the rear panel at the outside back of the stove to disconnect the terminals tha supply voltage to the ignitors.

Be sure to turn the breaker off and/or unplug the range from the 220V-AC outlet first.

Hope this helps you complete your repair. Best Regards!
