Had a problem like this on my receiver also. Turns out my receiver is a stripped down model. My receiver even though outputs hdmi to my tv it only carries video. Weird I know but that was the problem. Are you also using a home dish? My fix was using a optical audio cable.

Tell me what components u are using. Maybe I can help.

I bought another black ops 2 it has no scratches and it still says unorganized disk

Sounds like the laser in the console is starting to die out which is common in ps3's. Not so sure about Xbox or wii But if it's allowing you to play other games then the lasers probably fine. If it is a ps3 insert a clear cd (usually comes in the bottom of a cd-r stack) and look inside. A recent you should see a blue flash and a red flash. The red side of the laser reads dvd's and music, the blue flash is the blue ray. The blue should be very bright, if it's faded it will only read certain disks at certain times before it finally pops, sorry to go so deep into ps3's but you didn't specify the console. I had the same problem with the same game and it sucked really bad

Cannot get surround sound to work with Philips hts3106/f7 andonic tcp50g25. It works fine for Blue ray via the hdmi out of philips dvd/receiver, but not for xbox or cable etc (only works in stereo).

i have the same system. all you have to do is when you connect your xbox 360, press the surround button on the remote and then use the arrow buttons to change it to dolby music pro2 or multi channel audio. same goes with any device you connect. hope it helps. In my case the xbox is connected to the Tv via HDMI and bluray player is connected to xbox via compoent cable

Hooked it up to a blue ray player, no cable at all, just the blue ray, and i get no sound from the tv, just a picture

Hi,
To connect the Blu-ray player to the TV, connect the Video OUT of the Blu-ray player to the VIDEO 1, VIDEO 3, VIDEO 4 port on the TV using the "RED/WHITE/YELLOW" Composite cable to get both audio and video. You may also connect the "Component OUT" port of the Blu-ray Player to the VIDEO 5 and VIDEO 6 port on the TV using the (Red/Blue/Green/Red/White) Component cable to get both audio and video from it. If you have any questions on connectivity, you may wish to reply with your query.
Thanks,
Pradeep

No picture on tv and will not show us any menu

hi there! i would first recommend to check the cable interface of your xbox to your tv. are you using HDMI cable or the composite video cable? you may isolate your xbox console by trying to use your cable on other appliance like DVD or Blue ray disc and connect it to your TV.

good luck to you and i hope i answered your question. feel free to ask if my suggestion above did not worked.

The Yamaha RX-V463 AV does not playsound from the blue ray player

"I am also having difficulties in try to display the yamaha set up menu on the tv."
According to the manual the display menu for TV will not work with HDMI hook up.
I also have a Panasonic HD TV and can't get TV sound through my Yamaha AVR on "TV Sound" mode.  Trying to use HDMI cable for this also.  Do I need a digital optical cable or do I not have something set right?

buy a remote audio/video selector. you can plug all your devices in and one output to your home theatre system. it has a remote & selector buttons. it's not expensive & any tv/hi-fi shop should stock it
