Question about GE Monogram ZET3058SHSS Stainless Steel Electric Double Oven

Self cleaning won't shut off

I went to use the self cleaning option for the first time; it ran, door locked and never stopped. I had to turn it off, but the self cleaning light is on and the stove is locked.

The oven door was locked for 2 weeks! It eventually just opened one day, but i imagine that the timer needs to be fixed.

That is because it needs to cool down before the oven will unlock.There should be a timer running and when it gets to "zero" it should unlock.

Hello,

IF you can locate the model number tag (bottom left of door opening) you can look up the manual at www.geappliances.com

The only button on your stove that should make the door lock would be the clean button (self clean model) if that is pressed simply hit the clear/off or cancel key and wait for the door to unlock.

IF the self clean option ran for an hour or so, you will have to wait for the oven to cool down before the lock can unlock (safety feature)

F8 code means your door latch assy needs to be replaced. Two options:
1. Turn it off on the circuit braker
2. Replace the door latch.
It will continue to try to lock itself most likely, as door latch microswitch logic is messed up.

Lock light on frigdaire self cleaning oven

OK, this is not a good situation here. your Electronic Oven Control board is damaged. the logic sectors are faulty. The F-1 represents a major EOC failuer and, you will need to replace your EOC(clock) asap, if possible.

Door locked after cancelling self clean option

Open the door. In the upper left corner, press and hold the door switch (the one that controls the inside light). Start a self clean cycle and wait for lock motor to engage. When the lock stops moving it should be in the unlocked position. Press cancel to stop the self clean.

How much time to leave on self cleaning...clock does no work

Depending on the condition of the oven, it could take up to 4 hours.

I ran the auto self clean on my oven last week for the first time and it set automatically for 3 1/2 hours. (It stunk, but it worked.)

A couple things to remember is: (1) Make sure you do not turn the light on inside the oven. The clean cycle should disable it. (2) Lock the door if it does not lock itself. (3) Do not open the door during the clean cycle.

Remember the self cleaning temperature is extremely high. Do not allow children in the area while doing it.

did you try setting a start and stop time with the time knobs? i had the same problem til i set 3 hrs on the start and stop, then let it sit (after locking the door and turning the knob to clean). after it was warmed to cleaning temp, the light for cleaning came one...

I JUST CALLED FRIGIDAIRE AND GOT INSTRUCTIONS FOR SELF CLEANING:

1. TAKE OUT THE RACKS UNLESS YOU DON'T MIND THEM TARNISHING
2. TURN THE "SELECTOR" AND/OR "OVEN" DIALS TO THE LOCK (OR CLEAN) POSITION
3. PRESS THE "COOK TIME" BUTTON
4. SET THE CLOCK TO 2 OR 3 HOURS (I.E., "2:00" OR "3:00"), DEPENDING ON HOW DIRTY THE OVEN IS
5. PRESS "START" BUTTON
6. YOU WILL HEAR THE MOTORIZED LOCK MOVE INTO PLACE; WAIT ABOUT 30 SECONDS, THE DOOR SHOULD BE LOCKED AND CLEANING WILL BEGIN.
7. CLEANING WILL STOP AFTER THE TIME SELECTED (I.E., 2 / 3 HRS) AND THE DOOR SHOULD AUTOMATICALLY UNLOCK

I have a GE Monogram double wall oven. Both ovens seem to be having the same problem - 1st the lower oven and now the upper oven. Oven flashes F1. I let oven cool. Reset - it runs. For a period of weeks. Now no more F1 - but when I set the oven - temp. starts to raise, but oven automatically shuts off long before reaching temp. Is this a computer problem or something else - like the coils are old and need replacement?.
