Are you still having the issue with the wireless connection?

this PC is old 10 years old today
and came with XP is it still XP?
as the title says in your first post"?
    the virus magnet.

if your Wifi is dead everywhere, (you never said it was)
then you may not even have the wifi option card present.... we look for it first.

and fails to see the internet icon is also dead. (nor if device mananger shows its dead)

The OP failed useing WIFI to connect to the
CAFE , local free, service. there.(steps)

if wifi shows good, in wifi settings
    and the browser fails
you can reload Firefox, and it will set it self up and work with 1 click,
    after you download firefox.

I'm typing now, on FF V62
no proxy, click this is FF settings

XP (the versus magnet) is well known(infamous)
for the worst wifi software on planet earth
    there are exceptions,.
one is it can not scan and find all local wifi, SSIDs . nasty XP is.
best is RETIRE the PIG it has zero value used. put free Linux on this old PC,
    or buy w7

    learn to diagnose 2 failures.
1: WIFI IS DEAD. (LOTS OF CAUSES)
2: OR YOU BROWER SETUP IS WRONG.

DOES YOUr pc FAIL at home?, or at the air port
and all other wifi hot spots, zones or for sure at home, then wifi is dead.
    fix wifi ask how.

on windows I can have 5+ browsers.
ie11,opera,firefoxv61 (and v22 for my cameras) and Edge, and chrome
if all 5 fail the PC has no working wifi.
easy no, just 5 min work to load a new browser.

does the wifi card look ok in device manager.
tell me you are not running XP, the last pC on earth with it and infected, fully.
XP has a horrible wifi driver set,
it is not user friendly at all.
upgrade to w7, end this XP virus magnet.

SOURCE: Netbook type: Asus Eee PC series Operating system:

1) Try the get software option, see if you can download some software. Anything will do just to test the function.

2) If that works ok, then its a problem with Firefox and not your internet connection.

3) If its a problem with Firefox, using the same function remove Firefox, reboot then re-ininstall.

4) If you can't download anything, then your network connection needs looking at.

I have an ebook notebook 7 but it wont load the internet even though it is saying im connected with a strong signal. any advice?

just because you are connected to a wireless network does not necessarily mean that you can access the internet. Can you access the internet from another wireless device using the same wireless network. If you can then the problem lies with whatever browser you are using and maybe your firewall. Please reply with what windows version you are using and what browser and firewall is on your ebook

Netbook is wirelessly connected, but can't browse web sites

Shouldn't have to do much. I bought my daughteran ASUS Eee netbook with XP on it and it immediately connected to my wireless. Shouldn't be anything special to the settings unless you have specified these in your network settings on the router. If everything is set to default on the router, you should be able to connect with ease. I would enable WEP security on the router though.

ASUS EEE PC w/ Windows XP will not Connect Wirelessly

You need to know if your home network requires a password or paraphrase to allow you to connect. Also, you might have to check your settings on your router, they have to match the settings of your laptop wireless adaptor. You can try these solutions and if no luck post with more information

Pending local network connection asus 701

go to WIRELESS properties

make sure everything setup correctly
(WEP password, ANY channel, etc.)

does it connect to any other wireless networks?

we had one eeepc with the same problem, and
we fixed it by doing a complete restore.

NOTE: use the icon that says NETWORK, not the one that
says WIRELESS NETWORKS. the first one is for
home and work, the wireless network option is for
use in cafes, etc.

Wireless connection pending

I have seen this problem with many of my clients. Here is a way to correct your WLAN connection problem:

1: Choose "Network" in the Internet option, disconnect it and then delete the Connection in the "Manage".

2: Click "Create" to recreate the connection, choose "Local Area Network- Wireless", then Next.

3: Choose "Next".

4: Select Address Type, and then Next.

5: Browse Wireless Networks and then choose the one you want to use, you should see your wireless router/modem and the signal should show "Excellent" or "Very Strong". Choose the mode to be "infrastructure" and the Transfer rate to be "auto", and then Next.

6: Wireless Channel Settings, choose any channel.

7: If your AP is using the WEP or WPA encryption, you need to choose "Enable encryption" and then input the Key and Key index, (If you want your connection secured, you should use WPA and select a key index.) choose Next.

8: Fill in the Name of connection, then choose Next.

9: You can choose the "Connect automatically at system startup" or "Start this connection when finished" if you want, and then choose Finish.

This should correct your connection issues. Good Luck.
