Question about Black & Decker Simple Start Car to Car Battery Booster

1 Answer

I have misplaced the manual. I know I am supposed to charge it for 15 hours prior to first use but I have not used it or recharged it for over a year. Please send a downloadable manual. Assuming it would need to be charged as if it were new, I plugged it in and pushed the recharge button. Nothing happened. I then hit the ON/OFF button and Recharge. The On/Off showed a red light and the Recharge showed a steady green light and there was an annoying siren going off.

SOURCE: charging Black and Decker Simple Start

First plug the charge adapter into an outlet, then plug into the unit. Push the power button to turn the unit on. Now, push the button for the light. The light should come on. At this point you hit the charge button and the green light should start blinking and there will no beeping. Then turn off the light. The green light should continue to blink and the unit will charge. This worked for me, hope it helps!

SOURCE: lawnmower won't start up

I have the EXACT same problem with my mower. I called the Black & Decker number listed above, and learned that the mower is under recall for this problem. So call them and find out where the nearest dealer is, and they will fix it for free.

SOURCE: keeps beeping when recharging

Here is what the B&D website says.
"If the unit starts to beep continuously, let it beep for about 1 minute, then turn the unit off and unplug the charger from the unit. Allow the unit to sit a full minute and then repeat the charging process.
If you still experience difficulties with the unit beeping after about ten attempts to charge, we recommend bringing the unit back to the retailer for an exchange, or taking the unit to the nearest factory-owned service center for assistance. "

Apparently, the chip needs reset. It didn't work for me though.

My zpad won't hold a charge

Lithium ION batteries are useusally rechargeable. The use mode for these batteries is that there
are a set number of recharges that equate to the life of the battery. Usually that life is
approximately 1,000 charges.
If you use your battery to 50% then recharge, you can do this ~2,000 times. As the life of the
battery is used up, the maximum charge lessens which means where you may have had 8
hours of play time when the battery was new, you will only have 6 hours as the battery life is
used up.
In order for a Lithium ION battery to recharge there must be at least a small amount of charge
left as a "seed" for that recharge. If you drain a L-ION battery down to zero, it may never
recharge again or the max charge will be reduced to an insignificant amount of the original full
charge. eg instead of 8 hours you may only get 15 minutes, or 5 minutes, or no minutes.
You are much better off recharging when 50% depleted than using it up til your product stops.
L-ION batteries cannot be repaired only replaced. Most cheap products using L-ION batteries
cannot have their batteries replaced.

The manual says to charge for 16 hours if it has not been used in awhile. They say nothing about it over charging, but the batteries need to be used and let discharge through shaving. A fresh/new battery is supposed to last about 2 weeks before needing a recharge. I think keeping them charged all the time cuts down on battery life.

Hi, Below are the tips to you : Digital camera use high current to make it works. Your 2 units battery 2500 mAh are normally worth for your camera. Your battery will get its full capacity after charged for 13-15 hours from designated charger ( I supposed you to use energizer charger). In your camera set your flasher to auto mode. This will save the power rather than use the flasher manually / all time. If after fully charged the battery and you still get the same performance. You may have wear down battery and need replacement. New battery required 24 hours charging before use at first time. Now install your new batteries. If you still get same problem, you've got problem with your camera internally.

I don't think you are doing anything wrong, just the setup you are useing is'nt as effective as you would like.

I use the energizer rechargeable (NiMH) batteries with the energizer 15 minute charger. The other batteries and chargers just don't seem to work as well. I get several hours of play time on a single charge, where I was only getting about 1/2 hour to an hour with the others. **No I am not a paid endorser, I just use and like the product!**

Hope this helps, please let me know how you end up or if I can help more.

Recharge your batteries for AT LEAST 15 hours, even if your charger's light indicates full charge. You should get at least 200 pics from a charge.
