Question about Samsung WF328AA Front Load Washer

1 Answer

My washer shut off mid cycle, now it won't power on at all, nothing is displayed on the front panel, no lights, the door is locked, it seems to have drained OK. We have water pressure to hot and cold, the drain hose is clear as far as I can tell, and outlet it's plugged into has been tested and works. Any ideas?

Withe the power 'OFF' remove the lid then find the black hose leading from the dispenser to the plastic tank.. if clogged with detergent then squeeze carefully breaking up the powder then flush through.. if the hose is behind the front panel then this could also be done by removing the door seal fron the front panel for access.. i have unblocked many a times this way with as little taking apart as possible.. Thanks

SOURCE: Kenmore washer spins but won't drain (model #110.20052993)

It appears your pump has failed in this instance.

For replacement parts - head on over to PartSelect.com or RepairClinic.com and enter in your full model number for a full parts listing.
I recommend both sites because ...

FixYa has no affiliation with either site - I have been using and recommending them for years - trouble free.

PartSelect has a great schematic database for locating the part on your unit and great "testimonials" for each part that often times includes HOW-TO information.
RepairClinic has pictures of each part they sell and also a great how-to and troubleshooting for basic repairs.

If your unit has never been serviced - there should still be an original service manual enclosed in plastic taped to the inside of the shell.
In the service manual are Error codes, maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting steps you can follow.

Anything too complicated or beyond your scope should be handled by a professional.

If you think you want to tackle the repair - and have gotten stuck on a step - reply to your question and I will be glad to help you out.

Thanks for using FixYa - a 4 THUMBS rating is appreciated for answering your FREE question

My Kenmore front load washer will not fill--it sounds like it is draining instead. The last load washed did not spin correctly and the clothes were very wet when cycle completed.

Washer Not Filling:

  • Door Not Closed and Locked
    • Front load washers won't fill if the door is not closed and locked. Listen for the door locking when starting a cycle, then pull on the door to make sure the door is closed and locked.
  • Delayed Start Feature
    • Some washers have a delay prior to filling, where the electronic control is checking the dispenser function. This is Normal.
  • Flashing Lights or Error Code on Display
    • When there is a filling issue, the washer may shut off and display one of the following codes: LF, LE, nF, IE, FH, E10 or F20.
    • If the washer is displaying one of the above error codes, then do the hard reset procedure listed below.

If the appliance is not accepting input from the control panel, follow the steps below to reset the control:

  1. Unplug or turn the circuit breaker off for 30 seconds.
  2. Plug the power cord into the wall outlet or turn the breaker back on and wait 30 seconds.
  3. Press the Pause / Cancel / Stop button twice to clear the display.
  4. Start a short cycle, to check operation of the appliance, by selecting a cycle and pressing and holding the start button until the appliance starts.

My washer just shut down mid cycle and is locked. Lights wont come on and it wont turn on to even get the clothes out. What can I do?

You can remove the front lower panel and reach up the left side and you will feel a little tab hanging under the door switch . Pull this and the door will release.

Whirlpool Duet Front loader mdl WFW8300SW00 will not start

I had a variety of error codes show up on my duet, and I'm not sure but I seem to recall a 31, but the most constant was 02. I took off the front cover, pulled the white plug out from the unit, put a bucket under it, unscrewed it and drained it. It may be the MCU is having problems because the washer got plugged up.

Stops mid cycle, won't spin

You need to check and see if the door-lock light is on ,if not then you have either a faulty door lock mech. or a defective solid state board in the control panel

Maytag Neptune - died with clothes inside and door locked

hi there,

sounds like you may have had a power outage or tripped the breaker on the main electrical panel on your house. can you have a look for me please?

if not it's the main control board that is defective.

can you tell me the full model # & serial # (these will be located on your bill of sale, since you can't open the door).

i will check the warranty info and let you know if the board has warranty.

thanks.

E40 error code

The E40 error code indicates a loss of electrical power usually but not always due to the door not shutting properly or not locking. But, since you smelled burning it could be any electrical short that blew a fuse and shut the machine down. It could also be the motor windings with the internal overload protector shutting it down.
