Question about Micrografx Designer 9 Full Version for PC

I am getting an error stating "Designer has encountered a disk I/O error trying to access the file", while trying to open a dsf file. I am using micrografx for more than 2 years now and lately i am getting this problem that to when i remotley connect my office pc and work from their. Any assitance is greatly appreciated.

Close Designer 9.
Open the folder containing the 'DSF' file.
Try to copy the file into a different folder, or onto a USB memory-stick.
Do you still get the same error-message?
If so, then the problem is that your disk-drive has a problem;
your problem is _not_ a problem with the Designer 9 software.

Your disk-drive could be "dying". Backup all your important files.
Consider replacing the disk-drive, before it COMPLETELY fails.

Try repairing disk permissions by running the Disk Utility application until you get no errors (then restarting).
Hope by doing that you get the solution.

Trying to reload Windows OS. Run into

From another computer build a msdos floppy disc, yes floppy disc.
I believe you computer accepts floppys does it not? and i also asume you are running xp, you can try running the startup disc and trying to check disc, but if you cannont procede, i would opt into downloading another copy of the windows and try installing through that method. If the disc dosent load, and you get that error message of the bat, another step will be waiting for you.

Run System File Checker. From a DOS/Command window type: sfc /scannow

To open a DOS window, boot in safe-mode by pressing F8 repeatedly during the boot process (prior to seeing the Windows splash screen), then once in Windows go to Start > All Programs > Accessories > Command Prompt.

If autosaved is enabled in your CAD, then most likely you can recover a n sv$ file of it saved in a temp folders. You can rename this file and change the extension from .sv$ to .dwg.

Husqvarna Designer will not read files

Use 3D Disk Manager to write to the floppy disk that goes into your Designer 1. It will automatically convert the files to .shv for you. Disk Manager is part of the Accessories menu (top right-hand of your menu bar when you have program open). Firstly, read the disk (downwards pointing blue arrow on menu bar), then use either the file icon or the camera icon to put the designs you want on the Disk Manager screen. Then use the Write Disk icon (upwards pointing blue arrow on the menu bar). Write back if you need more information - this can get quite long-winded!
