Hi, I repair lots of tools and ended up buying a complete like 2000 part o ring kit I keep in my shop, it has proven invaluable, If you can't find the o ring at a hardware store, give ample supply a call and see if they can help you, their number is 1-800-339-5667.

SOURCE: compare staple guns

A hammer tacker is a device somewhat similar to a staple gun, except that the mechanical energy from the user's muscles is stored — as in a hammer — as momentum of the gun itself, rather than as compression of an internal spring. This type of stapler is typically used for insulation, roofing and carpeting.

SOURCE: Need staples for my Swingline Heavy Duty Tacker #800

I have 8 boxes of 1/4" staples, 1000 staples per box, and I haven't an 800 or 900 staple gun, so I'd like either an 800 or 900 Swingline staple gun or for someone to buy my staples.

I have a rexel 2001 staple gun. It says on it to use Rexel 2001/6 or 2001/8 staples in it but I can't find that particular size anywhere! Can anyone tell me the equivalent size to look for please?

2001 seems to be a year reference. The /6 and /8 is millimeters of the leg of the staple before bending.

These should fit, or go to your local business goods store like Staples. (no pun intended)

For a heavy duty or carpet staple gun, you want T50 staples from the like of Home Depot in this link.

How to load brads

My experience is limited with such things.

I have a couple of staple guns that will take brads, unfortunately the brads for one of them are no longer available. The brads had to have a shape and size similar one leg of the staple and a little of the bend at the top so they looked like an upside-down lower-case letter J and it was simply a matter of sliding a strip of brads into one side of the staple magazine.

The other staple gun will accept a more generic sort of brad in the same way but they have to be brads designed for use in that type of staple gun, known as a tacker so they aren't confused with the bigger staple/nail guns. The tacker will generally accept only brads of 20 or 18 gauge.

I suggest you ensure you have the right brads and then just load them like you would the staples.

My gun will not shoot staples after loaded I thin there is a part missing

Staple gun are simple device and the 'shooting' mechanism is just a sring loaded bar that hammers the staple out: the problem is usually a jam/stuck staple where the staple in the orifice where the staple comes out. Just use a small screwdriver and /or plier to remove the stuck staple which could be jammed against the hammer bar. You may need to force the hammer bar backwards with the help of your small flat head screwdriver.

Hope it helps!
