Question about Washing Machines

I washed a throw rug about 4 x 2 ft & it was very wet when finished I ran it through spin only twice & it didn't help much. Someone said to check the outlet filter, don' know where that is. Could there be something else I should do?

Most cheep rugs sold in box stores are "hand tufted". What this means is that cheep adhesives are used to hold the rug together and when washed the adhesives come out, destroying the rug and plugging up the filters on your washer. Find a certified rug expert to care for ALL loose rugs and you will avoid the greif.

Washing machine, model #WA45M7050AW/A4, wash throw rugs. There is no information in the manual which came with the machine. Is there any information one might find useful when washing a rug?

like a bedspread throw rug, rather than a rug for the floor?

Same as the material it is made from, normally cotton. Cold wash, minimum agitation, medium spin. You may need to re-balance the load after washing as it is a top loader.

This advice is for Kenmore Elite and Whirlpool Duet model FRONT LOADERS displaying the “F02” error code.

“F02” is a Long Drain error. If the drain time exceeds 8 minutes this error code will be displayed. In addition, a “SUDS” error may also be generated as a secondary error. This is an indication of a drain pump problem and/or clog in the drain line. You will need to check the following:

  1. Check the drain hose to make sure it is not kinked or clogged.
  2. Check the electrical connections to the pump and ensure the pump is running.
  3. Remove the drain pump filter and check for foreign objects and/or debris.
To check the drain pump, click on the following link for step-by-step instructions.

If the above procedures do not correct the problem, it is recommended by the manufacturer to replace the drain pump.

When washing a throw rug, I need extra spin but it won't seem to let me set the extra spin option...what am I doing wrong?

it could be a defalt for the paticular cycle your washing the rug on to not allow for an extra spin. try a normal or heavy duty cycle.

3 area rugs wee washed but would,nt spin out . E20 kept flashing. I took all but 1 rug out machine finished cycle but still didn,nt wring out This has never happened before

there is a lint screen inside the water pump hose(the one that goes from the outer tub to the pump). if you have a port or access door to get to it remove it, if not you may have to remove the front panel to get to it. you could have debris blocking the drain and causing the computer to delay the spin process.

Throw rugs are dripping wet after washing. My washer doesn't have just a spin cycle, so I have to rinse and spin. This still doesn't help. Every rug I wash comes out dripping.

The washer is likely detecting an off balance load with only a rug or two. You may want to try and put more rugs or old towles in to offer a counter balance to alleviate off balance condition. Or, you may consider washing the rugs at a commercial facility. They really are hard on the residential machines, especially if they come apart or the backing comes off.
