Question about ASUS Eee PC 1000HD Notebook

1 Answer

The screen of my netbook does not work. I can see that the background light is on, but the graphics do not appear. The screen stays black. Even when I restart the pc, remove the battery (change to the adaptor) the problem contignues. This is not the first time I have got the problem. It occures often and then suddenly when I try tot start the pc again the graphics do work again. Then a few weeks later the problem occurs again. What can I do about it? NOTE: I never leave the pc for more than 2-3 hours on standby and it is never been damaged.

Your video card is iffy. Meaning it's failing. If your video comes from the motherboard, then replace the motherboard.

SOURCE: Display resolution goes from 1024x600 to 800x600 at start up.

try reinstalling the drivers for the onboard graphics and for the monitor. Might be the monitor is not supporting the default resolution.

SOURCE: Error Msg: A disk read error occured.

Hi there.
It took them a month to install XP!!!!!!!
It should have been done within 24 hours.
Have you any warranty on the laptop at all? if you have you must take advantage of that and send it in for repair as it sounds to me like the solid state hard drive may be corrupt.

If it works fine when you connect to your tv then you've probably got a loose cable on the screen. You'll have to strip it to check.

No data just black screen

If everything appears to be working, hook a external monitor to the video output usually on the back, if picture is okay! the inverter board located under the screen has failed, or the backlight behind the display is defective. Now if both screens show the same problem it is the video graphics card that is bad normally built into the motherboard.

Screen turns on but appears as a black screen

Check cables, then check will it work with external display port? If yes, then you have a problem with your graphic card port, otherwise whole graphic card. Bad news: If you don't see BIOS welcome lines then it is possible that your video card broken and won't work anymore.
