Why can't I enter tech. rep. mode? I followed instructions to enter mode but does not work. I am trying to clear trouble code C0500

You don't use Service mode for a c0500 code on a di151 use the stop button power off the machine hold stop down power on. Then power off then power on if it come back replace the fusing unit the hot part. DO NOT REPEAT reset can cause a fire!

Code c0500

C0500 is a warm-up error on those little machines. Try holding the stop button while switching on, that should reset the code. It sometimes happen if it's kinda cold, or when the power dips. If the code comes back, you'll have to replace the fuser unit.

What causes Error code 0500

Fusing Unit Heating problem. Meaning that the fuser is not heating up as it should. This unit is located right where the paper exits the machine, behind the left side door that opens. The most common failure that causes the code is the thermal fuse. When the fuse blows it cuts the power to the heater lamp. When the machine does not see the proper temperature within a specific amout of time the C0500 code comes up. Good news is it is a $5 part. Only bad news is you will need a service tech to remove the fusing unit, replace the part, then clear the C0500 code from the copier memory.
Good Luck and Thank You for using Fixya.

I am getting an error code C0500 after changing the toner. What do I need to do to get the printer back online?

Depends on the model of you Konica Minolta. The CO500 is usually related to fusing temp. It's possible that a power spike or a thunder storm that knocked out power to the building would caused this.
