Why is it "spitting" water instead of steam ?

The vaporiser is "spitting" out water, instead of a steady steam.now what ?

If spitting, the resevoir is too full.

I had this same problem! It's not because the tank is too full. I never overfilled mine, but I had the same spitting problem. I realized it was because I had added too much salt. I tried it once with no salt, but it never did anything. Literally was plugged in for 12 hours, and nothing happened. So I added just a PINCH of salt, and it works perfectly now. It's also not because you haven't cleaned it.....Literally just too much salt.

My son ia very sick mine is only been used one night and now all its doing is spitting out tons of water where the steam comes from im livid damn thing cost me 40$ for it to be useless after one use so mad right now !

I'm upset. Mine is 2 days old and my son is sick and I don't have time for this stupid thing to be sputtering hot water all over the nursery. I should not have to clean it after ONE USAGE!!! I feel furious about it.

Clean the unti - and do not add salt. I live in a major hard water city...and was amazed at how much dirt the tank collected. I tried adding salt to to stop the spitting, which did make a lot more steam, but did NOT stop teh water spit. I also noticed, with salt added, water in tank would only last 4-6 hours, not the 18-24 hours it should. I just figured it out, and now mine works great again, and does not spit. I cleaned the water tank throughly, several rinses, then wiped out entire inside. If you want it to work like new, you have to keep your tank as clean as new. I am going to start filtering my water that I put in with a double pantyhose I made simply so there no more dirt ~ a clean tank will fix the problem, it did mine :)

Have you cleaned it recently? Sometimes that's an indicator that it needs to be cleaned.

Humidifier spits out water rather than steam.
Descale the boiler. You do that by putting vinegar in as you would water, start the machine until is starts spitting water then turn off for 30 or so minutes. Turn it back on and let it run. If it stops spitting, dump out the vinegar and flush the boiler with water until you no longer smell vinegar.

How to stop humidifier from spitting out water
Humidifiers, depending on brand will spit out a little water as that is the Idea to get moisture into the air, but you can try not filing it so full, this one is steam so I would look into owners manual as to how to clean it , you may find that it has collected calcium deposits not allowing it to vaporize the water properly.

vaporisers are a great way to make your home a healthier air environment , first id like to caution you on what you add to your water feed , b sure it doenst contain any chemicals that might degrade in heating to be toxic to humans , example( air fresher's) these contain sometimes propane as a propellant and that shouldn't be added to live steam , read the labels on what u add to water ??? next im not sure why you couldn't breath in the steam , I do suggest you use a large bath towel and drape it over your head and hang it down over vaporizer to catch steam , this is safer than sticking your face over one directly also these machines do require weekly cleaning and do manage to get bound up with minerals that are in tap water left behind inside the unit , its best to keep a indoor air humidity of 70% rh in winter and summer for proper health , gauges for this measurement are cheap and easy to obtain

When you say you added apinch of salt I asked my wife and she says that is the measure that she uses. I doubt that you have to much salt but you can flush out your vaporizer with warm water while the unit is running. I would run two or three times for 1-2 hours each then remove element and rinse withe warm water.Also rinse out container and refill with warm water to fill line,make sure you don't overfill as this can cause the spitting. I would add about 1/4 cup of pure vinegar and let unit run. If you have hard water or high mineral content this should help to clean it.

could be faulty element or earth leak - as it is new - I strongly advise you to change it at the store you purchased it from.

Spitting noises and gushing water
Another alternative to vinegar is to use lemon juice. About 1 cup to a tank of water should do the trick. It smells much better than vinegar and also has the acid content to clean the vaporizer.

My vaporizer is making a spitting sound -
No salt, unless you had 0 steam - to stop water spit, throughly clean the water tank, just as clean as new. It will work like new if the tank is as clean as new! I dont know where the small particles of dirt come from, but trust me, I just went thru this with mine, it's got dirt in it!
