Scanning? I want to use the scanner on my HP3055. So I downloaded the install software but it won't let me install it. It says: no printer detected, make sure printer is turned on etc.. but I can still print, no problem there? What do u think?

Use a Normal TWIN driver that appears in any software that allows you to scan or in Windows click on Start, Device and Printers, Select your HP3055 and SCAN

Click HERE - download the software and it will work for you as this is the same as a disk. Be sure to download the support software/drive for the operating system you have. - XP - Vista - 7 etc.

You need to install the softeware first with the printer unplugged from the computer!

Insert your softeware disk and restart your computer, if computer doesn't detect new software when it is rebooting....than go into your control panel...click on install new software.

Once that is installed, you'll need to restart again with the printer hooked up this time.

Again, if computer doesn't detect new hardware, go into control panel, click on install new printer, you will have to select the make and model, or if you have the disk, select have disk, then next...you computer should install the hardware for you printer.

After installed, restart again...to see if if new software and hardware is detected and is being installed.

Go to your printers, from your control panel, and see if your printer is there, if not select, add new printer, it will take you through the process from there. Make sure you select this to be your default printer!

Cherokee, You must first disconnect the device. Then uninstall the drivers. Reboot the computer. Reinstall the drivers. Reconnect the device and allow Windows sufficient time to auto detect and load up the drivers. Then only will the scanner work properly.

You must install the driver software for the scanner /camera before you connect the scanner /camera to the PC.
Since your model /make is not specified , I adivce that you seach for free downloads of the software for the make/model from the site of the manufacturer.

• Unistall the printer drivers from Device manager and also unistall the all the printer appications
• restart the computer
• try to download drivers from the website
• after installing drivers and software it will ask you to connect the printer.
• then you can connect the printer and and try to Print the test page.

Scanner:

yes please goto hp.com and there will be a tab that says support and drivers click on it then click on dowload software and driver downloads and download the HP LaserJet 3050/3052/3055/3390/3392 North America/Western Europe Full Software Solution

You will get either an hp director icon on the desktop or the hp solution centre.Open either one and click on settings then point to scan settings and click on scan to setup and in the new window make sure all the listed items should be on the right hand side(if they are not then please move them manually by selecting the item and pressing the right arrow button).
There are new patches and in the downloaded software there is a software called ocr which will help it work..If this still does not work could be a problem with the scanner bulb and if ur making a scan from the adf then the adf has a separate in built scanner glass apart from the scanner bed.If this does not resolve the issue call in to hp at 1800 474 6836 and we will either replace your printer or give you and upgrade or something like that.

Make sure your printer is connected to the computer & the printer is turned on.
In Step 1. Click the emty circle next to, "Download drivers and software (and firmware)".
In Step 2, click "Start Detection >>" button. Allow HP to install some software. HP will scan your system & find your printer. HP will install the correct updated software & or tell you what is needed for the LaserJet 2840 to function correctly. Follow all on screen instructions.

Step 1:. Check Hardware Driver Installed Properly
- My Computer-Properties-Hardware-Device Manager
- If Yellow mark in printer and Scanner field, the Printer
driver not installed properly.
- So reinstall Printer Software

Step 2: If Scanner Option only not working,
- Go to Scanner Settings(Start-Programs.....)
- Choose Correct Scanner Name.

- Press the Scanner button in hp 3055
- If Hardware driver was installed correctly, its automatically
deduct on your PC
